About Me

Evans Lubwa was born in Kakamega County. I was an average student in class, got a mean of C plain in my KCSE examinations, joined KTTC to pursue a Diploma in Information Studies, later enrolled for a Bachelor Degree in Library and Information Science after saving enough money to see me through University education. Now I have a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from Kenyatta University.

My mother used to work on other peoples Shambas just to put food on the table and get us pens and books. Life was hard but with God and determination I was able to overcome poverty. I am employed as well as running a side hustle: offering online tuition.

I am married with two beautiful daughters. The first born wants to become a Doctor like her Aunt and the second born wants to become an Entrepreneur running chain of schools.

My hobby is mentoring, making friends and reading; I read a lot!

I live in Westlands, here, people value quality education and being of value to the community. There is peace love and unity.

My Business

I run an online tuition centre in Parklands, Nairobi. We do tuition together with my wife who is a professional teacher. We are in the service industry where we teach online.

At the moment, schools are closed and students are home, my centre offers online tuition at a fee for both live and recorded sessions. My wife works with Early Year and Primary students while I work with Primary, Junior High and Senior High students. Our customers are majorly those pursuing international curriculum.

I chose this business because it is our line of professional training and having over 10 years of working experience as an educator, I though why not help out and get rewarded!

Typical costs include having high quality internet connection, doing quality videos which include getting video editors etc at a fee, rent, equipment like laptops and printers, office assistant salary for our physical office and running costs like electricity, water etc. Now, I would like to get funds and develop a website and online repository for our educational materials. I have a dream of developing an online library so that we can be able to rich out to everyone globally.

I use the profits to pay fees for my children, reinvesting in growing the business
