About Me

Iam called Katunge mutua from Kamboo village. I went to Makindu primary school. During my childhood i was brought up by my single mother, we were 12 children of my mother and i was the second born in our family. My father and mother divorced several years back when we were still young. When i was in primary school my mother struggled so hard to pay our school fees. My mother worked so hard and she managed to pay my school fees. I also worked so hard in my education so that i can achieve my dreams of joining secondary school. Fortunately i was among the best performers in my final primary school examination.I was enrolled to Makueni Girls High School, with the little money my mother earned she paid my fees and i continued well until i did my form four examination. I passed with average grade, but in that time my mother was not able to pay my university fee so i decided to search for a job atleast to get money for my education. I got a job at a retail shop as a helper i was to supply maize and beans to the hotels and restaurant. I did the job for about 5 years because i was helping my mother to pay my brothers and sisters school fees. In the land i live people did not want to educate girls because they were married off in an earlier age. I want my children in future to study to higher levels of education..

My Business

From where i worked as a helper i got experience and decided to open my own business of selling maize and beans to the people around. This business of selling and buying cereals is very competitive and also in a higher demand by the customers. I decided to do this kind of business because there is high demand of maize and its the favorite food in our community. i sell out my goods in a satisfying cost so that i can be able to maintain my customers. In each bag of maize i bought in 1800 KES i sell to my customers and when i finished it i get the profit of 800 in each bag. I use my profit to help my mother who is now so old. i also help my brothers by paying their school fees. My children also are in school so i pay there school fees. I ensure no one drops from school because of lack of school fees. The rest of my profit i reinvest in growing my business.

Loan Proposal

When i will get the loan i will add my stock to my business, which is -
3 bags of maize worth $54
4 bags of beans worth $144
2 bags of wheat worth $50
For me this loan will increase my income and for others i will create job opportunity.
I will like my profit to increase in a rate of 60% from my income.
