My name is phanice Odhiambo, I am married with 6 children . I worked as a primary school teacher and retired in 2011 due to health complications . After working as a teacher for several years and impacting positively in lives of thousands of African children, I finally decided to quit due to my health conditions . I had lung problems and therefore could not continue using chalk. i had no alternative source of income and yet I had bills to pay. I got retirement package from the government and decided to invest it in turkey farming. I keep turkey and chicken in my four acres farm. It is a good business with a lot of opportunities for growth.
Three of my children are in the university studying medicine, while the last two are in secondary school. I always encouraged them to work hard and that has earned them scholarship .
I like helping other farmers during my free time. I visit youth groups and other development organizations to share with them about poultry farming.
My business is poultry farming although I major on turkey farming. The turkeys are kept only by a few individuals here and the market is so wide hence high demand. i sell young turkeys to upcoming farmers and provide training .
I choose turkey farming because i noticed that despite the huge market for the turkey meat the supply was very low hence making it a profitable business.
I spend $200 for feeds and maintenance every month. my average income per month is $450.
I use my income to take care of my children basic needs and take care of my two adopted children whose parents threw in the bush after delivery.
Dear lenders please support me through $100 loan so that I can finance the purchase of one mature male turkey for breeding. I will give me better eggs for brooding and reduce infant mortality rate hence increasing my income . I will be very grateful for your support.Thank you
