About Me

I am 33 years old lady , a mother to three boys, an online freelancer, and a business lady. Thanks to Zidisha, my online freelancing journey was made possible courtesy of my last loan, which I purchased the equipment to start. I have been having a herniated disc on my lumbar spine since 2014 and just in 2020, I was diagnosed with a mental illness ( PTSD and major depressive disorder). This has made me struggle financially due to the cost of medication and psychosocial support. Nevertheless, this has not dampened my spirit to keep working hard. I know ultimately I will be the best version of myself.

My Business

During the COVID -19 season, the online work greatly minimized which affected the take-home cash at the end of the month. I however saw a gap in the market of distributing disposable masks. I started taking orders from friends and family and I would only buy and deliver what has been ordered since I did not have enough money to stock many boxes. My focus was on selling in boxes and not an individual piece of mask with was less tedious and efficient in terms of time.

Loan Proposal

I want to expand my jewellery business in terms of adding more stock for Kes 7,000 as well as venturing into making handmade jewellery/beadwork using very unique beads with a start up of Kes 7500. With the proceeds I will be able to repay the loan and be able to take care of my family and in turn be able to replenish the stock as I sell.
