About Me

My name is John. An husband to my beloved wife, and a dad to my three children. I have been farming for the past twenty years, having started growing vegetables soon after completing form four. I work hard on my farm to produce the best vegetables for my customers which rewards me with income to cater for mine and family's needs.

My Business

I own mazao fresh vegetable farm, where I grow about 30,000 plants on my two acres. I space them 30cm from one crop to another and 60cm from one row to another. A section of the farm hosts various traditional vegetables plants such as black nightshade (managu) and cowpeas (kunde). The other section grows kales and spinach. I sell my produce to the neighbors, local hotels and neighboring schools.

Loan Proposal

Having interacted with several vegetable farm owners in the diverse Kangundo area, I learnt that I had the potential to increase the produce and improve the efficiency in production. From planting the seeds or seedlings other vegetable farmers have used better methods and equipment. The results are fantastic, work is fast and involves less workers. Among others I was able to steal the use of farming machines for planting and use of drip irrigation. I will use the zidisha loan to buy pipes for drip irrigation and buy equipment for drip irrigation.
