I was given birth by Mr. and MissNicholas Boakye, who lives in Kumasi. I completed J. H. S, at Sokoban MA J.H.S and I further it at Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I), where offered Diesel and Heavy Duty. It was difficult but with Zidisha things are moving on smoothly. There are big rocks in my home town and is is not common here in Ghana. My children they said they will be doctors when they grew up and I've also assured them I will help them to achieve their goal. I was a table tennis player and I even represent my school when there is tournament.
I also sell parts like solenoid, filters and pressure release valve because am on the same field and I even completed school with the same course as a mechanic and at times it helps me to move on fast when ever am working and there is fault on that kind of parts, i found it easy to replace it because I already sell that kind of parts. I chose that business because am on the same field. I spend about ten thousand Ghana cedis each time I want to by parts. I used the profit to help my children in their school and I also save some for their future.
It meanly repairs and maintenance of heavy duty equipment’s like caterpillars, graders and etc. But i do not have a shop so I do it upon request then the person pays for spare parts used or they buy themselves and I fix for them.
it is a good job but sometimes the problem I do encounter is the parts to work with sometime you need to go to a fault with some part to help you do your work quicker and since I do not have enough capital i buy them as per request .I am into this business because with this I am able to manage everything by myself and keep good eye on my money and know what to do at any time and it less time consuming.
And the profit is sometimes channeled back to business but sometimes to assist my siblings with their education.
the cost of the business depends much on the fault or the parts to fix the fault and the profit margin too is not much because I always want to beat price to maintain customer’s and since i do not run a shop, i do consider it to reduce my charges. And because my capital is not much i do sometimes have many job to attend to but i have to pay for the spare parts I took first to enable the shop to credit me again.
