About Me

I am aged 49 years old. I was born in Guéreo. I studied up to 1st class [equivalent to second year of high school] in this city with my parents. My family was composed of my father, his three wives including my mother and my three brothers. Then I learned sewing. But I devoted myself especially to small business. With my marriage in 1989 I followed my husband to France. Now I’ve returned to the country with my husband who is in business selling furniture and all sorts of accessories. But I am in the home in order to take care of my family and my children. Now I’ve opened a sewing shop out of the home and I have the support of my husband and his parents. But since practicing this profession I’ve found my calling. Now I would like some small financing in order to better prepare my orders. This business consists of helping my parents and paying my loan if I receive it from Zidisha. Considering the remoteness of my clients, I have a twenty-year-old child who helps me to deliver my orders, and I pay him 15000 to 20000 F each month. I don’t pay rent, since it’s my husband’s house, and the charges such as water and electricity are paid by my husband. I’m in the habit of sorting things out for myself in such a way that I can’t rest without doing anything around the house, and I’m always active.

My Business

My customers are based in the lower region. Sometimes I sell at the fairs and in the office buildings. Generally I go to the weekly market. I have clientele there but one must always innovate, so you must go and find master tailors and sewers in order to have new items. Many of my relatives work in the government and they introduce me to clients, and each month at the end of the month I am able to collect my money without problems. But each time that they transfer it to me they place new orders for the end of the coming month. Therefore there is no break and one must find a way of satisfying the clientele. This work requires rolling funds and good conduct toward the clients, especially respecting the delivery date especially when there are ceremonies. For example marriage or baptism, and these occur often. And my friends and relatives place orders with me often. It is not a problem to sell and find financing. The profession of sewing works very well here in Senegal, since Senegalese women are models and love to dress correctly.

About Me

Je suis âgée de 49 ans. Je suis née à Guéreo. J’ai étudié jusqu’en classe de 1ère dans cette ville avec mes parents. Ma famille était composée de mon père, de ses trois épouses dont ma mère et de mes trois frères. Ensuite j’ai appris la couture. Mais c’est surtout au petit commerce que je me suis adonnée. A mon mariage en 1989 j’ai suivi mon mari en France. Actuellement je me suis retourné au pays avec mon mari qui fait du busness vente de meuble et toutes sortes d’accessoires. Mais moi je suis à la maison pour s’occuper de ma famille et de mes enfants. Maintenant j’ai ouvert un atelier de couture à la maison et j’ai le soutien de mon mari et de ses parents. Mais étant donné que depuis que j’exerce ce métier j’y trouve mon compte. Maintenant je voudrais un petit financement pour mieux préparer mes commandes. Ce commerce consiste à aider mes parents, et payer mon prêt si j’en ai à Zidisha. Compte tenu de l’éloignement de mes clientes j’ai un enfant de 20 ans qui m’aide à livrer mes commandes et je paie 15000 à 20000f par mois. Je ne paie pas de loyer mon mari à sa maison et les charges comme eau et électricité mon marie le paie. J’ai l’habitude de me débrouiller de telles sortes que je pas rester sans rien faire à la maison je suis toujours en activité.

Mes clientes sont basés dans la sous région dés fois je vends dans les foires et marcher et dans les bureaux. Généralement je me rends sur le marché hebdomadaire j’ai la clientèle la bas mais il faut toujours innover de ce fait tu es obligé d’aller et de rencontrer des maitres tailleurs et coutures pour avoir des nouveautés. Beaucoup de mes parents travaillent dans le gouvernement et il me mes en rapport avec des clientes et à chaque fin du mois je passe récupérer mon argent sans problème mais à chaque fois qu’ils ou elles me versent elles font des nouveaux commandes pour la fin du mois qui vient. De ce fait il ne doit pas y avoir de rupture et il te faut du moyen pour satisfaire la clientèle. Ce travail nécessite de fond de roulement et de la bonne conduite envers les clientes surtout respecter la date de livraison surtout quand il y a des cérémonies. Par exemple mariage ou baptême et y a n a souvent. Et mes copines et parents me fond des commandes souvent pas de problème pour vendre pour trouver un financement. Le métier de couture marche très ici au Sénégal car la femme sénégalaise créé des model et aiment s’habiller correctement.
