I am a Married Kenyan with one kid.I schooled in Mombasa through primary and secondary school.I then qualified to come to University in Nairobi to pursue my bachelor degree. It was never easy going through school since my parents were already out of formal employment.I thus needed to look for ways of making that extra cash so while in school I used to work in the school cafeteria where I got a small token that pushed me through, from this I was able to learn some basics about running a business
After completing school I joined formal employment but I had to look for ways of supplementing that income so I decided to start selling chapatis and mandazi in the neighbourhood that I stayed whose major cost was the purchase of flour, milk, sugar and charcoal. With time the business started to become popular hence the need to increase the the capacity of the business .
Having been introduced to Zidisha I got a way out since the biggest challenge that I had was where to get capital to grow the business.Through time I was able to grow the business through the funding that I received fron zidisha I was able to move the business from the roadside to get a permanent premise where I registered the business I got the necessary licences that I need to run the business.I really feel happy for this far have come majorly through the assistance of Zidisha since I have increased the sales in a big was as the premise I got made my customers feel more comfortable coming to purchase as compares to the earlier times when I had to keep moving to different locations I currently sell beverages and soft drinks, different types of food and snacks.Since the business I grown in a big way I see the need to seek more funds that may help me put some things in place.I currenly see the need to employ an individual permanently at the business and also to add into more of the stock since I would like to introduce a new variety of foods,I for see that this will cost me around 500usd including the cost of introducing seats for the increasing number of clients
The remaining money would be used to purchase the stock that is going to be used in preparing the different variety of foods.
Am really greatful for what zidisha has done for me so far since I have seen part of the money I have generated used towards my kids kindergarten school and also helped me take my wife through catering courses with a view to increasing efficiency in running and seeing us delivering quality food to our clients.
Since my previous loan I have managed to increase my capacity at my small food shop...o have now introduced tea as part of the thing I am selling.. And the number of customers has drastically increased since...I now sell tea and mandazis to passerby's and there are regulars who come too...this has forced me to seek for funds to satisfy the increasing need..I thus require from you my lenders to fund me on this so that I can buy more milk and flour to meet the increased demand.
