About Me

i am a kenyan male aged 28 years. I am married to one wife with two children, a son and a daughter. I live in a two bedroom house in Nyandarua county, Kinangop subcounty. Have been educated to college level, where i studied computer applications, repairs and maintenance. Having come from a family of twelve and of very humbled background, i needed a job that would be fast paying to enable me help in raising my siblings. I opted for farming. However, the income have always been low, there's no ready market, so the middle men take advantage of the situation. But am now able to connect with the markets for the fresh produce.

My Business

My county can produce fresh produce e.g potatoes, cabbages, spinach, milk, carrots e.t.c all year round due to favourable climate. But there are parts of Kenya like the Ukambani region that's always dry. Am therefore able to buy these produce at better price, then transport to the markets where i sell at almost double the initial price. With funding, i can be able to increase the capacity of products, which will enable me offer employment to three more youths from the two i have. It will also increase my profits from 30$ to 50$ a week which i use in reinvestments of cattle farming.

Loan Proposal

i intend to buy milk from farmers around Kamae forest. They produce a lot of milk but lack ready market. Currently a litre goes for 0.37US$ but i intend to purchase a litre at 0.40US$, after which i sell the fresh milk at 0.5US$ a litre. The area around which i live there's very high demand for fresh milk, both for home use and commercial use (restaurants, schools, industries e.g. timber yards) With the loan i ntend to increase the capacity of milk which will enable me employ two youths to assist in collection, transport and delivery of the commodity within least time. Therefore this will sustain me financially, offer employment to other youths, enhance availability of fresh milk to my locals as well as provide ready market to the farmers.
