I don't give up. I learn from my mistakes. At 54 years of age am married, to one wife, and we have a daughter who is currently in her 2nd year at the University of Nairobi. I have a 4 acre farm in Murunyu, Nakuru County called Press On Dairy Farm.
Press On Dairy Farm Currently with a herd of 3 milking cows producing 45 litres of milk per day. We have 4 heifers. We also rear Broiler chicken and are currently housing 400 heads. We have 1 acre of land under Boma Rhodes Hay & 2 acres under an intercrop of Nappier/Desmondium.
I will top up and purchase Mineral salt, Vital Joto @ 1500.00, for my heifers. This will take me for the next 2 months @ 100 - 200 grams per heifer depending on their age and weight. I hope to increase my credit limit to Kshs. 500,000.00. This will go a long way in increasing my herd productivity as I will manage to upgrade my herds genetic qualities, plant Lucerne hay and Desmondium which are great sources of protein. This will reduce our relaying on commercial product thereby reducing our operation costs. I have 4 acres of land and I believe that with capital I can soon invest in a Dairy processing equipment producing yogurt for sale in this big market.
