About Me

I am Jotham Mokoi, a recent graduate of Karatina University.
I was born back in the year 1994 in a family of seven siblings and I being the firstborn son to the family. I have one brother and five sisters and all of them are schooling. Two sisters are at University level and the rest at the primary level.
In my primary education, I attended a village private school and later on proceeded to a village secondary school as there were no funds that would enable me to join a school of my choice. I worked had and later after my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, I joined Karatina University in Central parts of Kenya.
While at campus life became so challenging that I would not meet my day to day needs and I even opted to differ my studies. I went to a nearby construction site and requested any job. The foreman in good faith offered me a job of ensuring the construction site was clean all through. The job boosted me all through my campus life as I would report to work every day when I had no classes even including night hours. I also raised fees from the small salary that I received.
Upon completion of my third academic year, I decided to start a small computer shop from the little savings that I had made. Fortunately, students became my immediate customers and they also attracted other area residents and the business picked up well.
In my community, people do believe that once one is out of campus, he/she should immediately be seated somewhere in a big office served by a secretary and so on. This tends to draw their attention more to a graduate doing business rather than sitting in an office.
I love computing and thus I do enjoy it a lot when in this business.

My Business

In my shop, I deal with glass and glazing services.I sell all types of building glass and I do make Home Aquariums. Glasses being part of basic needs in the society, I get most of my clients by visiting building sites where I sell and fix glass.
I chose this kind of business because Glasses form part of the basic needs since they complete the shelter function. I felt it nice to be providing basic needs to my society.
Per month I do spend 130 dollars for rent and 1500 dollars for purchases and transportation.
On a busy month, I make profits amounting to 700 dollars exclusive of all expenses.
While at the campus I would use some portion of the profits to clear my tuition fees. Recently and now that am out of campus I do use some portion of the profits to finance tuition fees for my siblings, meet my day-to-day needs and also use the remaining part in re-investing into my business.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan to buy a modem for my business. This will help me serve my customers with fast internet as there are many who demand the internet services. This will help increase my profits by 15%.
