About Me
My family is all from the Niamey region. I live in the Lazaret neighbourhood. I live in this neighbourhood since more than 30 years. I am a jeweller at the national museum of Niger in Niamey. My educational background is the CM2 level of primary school.
The reason why I am a jeweller is that the arts impressed me since my very young years. I love handiwork. The benefits of my work are used to pay the expenses of my family. First, pay tuition for my children, pay the monthly rent , electricity bills and the water bills. I also purchase the prime material , that is the silver metal.
I also have to take care of the maintenance and fuel of my motorcycle with which I commute between home and work.
I also pay medicines for my children, my wife and myself when somebody gets ill.
My Business
I make silver jewellery. Amongst others, I make bracelets for women and men, and also for children. I also make necklaces of different models, various rings; rings with ebony wood, or with stones like agath. I also work on commands. the high demand is due to the fact that art work is considered as a traditional job. customers prefer our services because we offert them a well done and finished work, and done with talent. They trust and appreciate our work. The rentability and the value of the work are the result of the finishing of the work and its beauty. The risks are mainly competition in the market. The costs are not fixed: the vary from one period to another just like the monthly costs. Income also varies: during touristic season the revenus are high. Benefits are related to income. I earn more with tourists or else I sell at affordable prices. In the last case the benefits are reasonable.
Loan Proposal
My first purchase will be the prime material that I will transform into jewellery. I would make the jewels that are most demanded on the national and international markets. Generally the new creations are the most sought after. This loan will help me a lot to enlarge my shop , in other words; I would dispose of a starting capital. The loan of Zidisha will also better the living conditions of my family.
