About Me

My name is Kelvin Nyongesa, from Angorom village, Teso south sub county, Busia county western Kenya. I am the first born in a family of 9 and was raised with my uncle, after my parents passed on while I was 6yrs old. I schooled at the Nambale primary school and later proceeded Nambale secondary school where I successfully completed my secondary Education, but missed university entry point with only one point.
I am currently I leaving with my aunt, she has given me a small farm where I grow traditional African vegetables and sale them to get money to buy my basic needs. The business has proven great potential should I get an opportunity and resource to expand it. I grow traditional African vegetables only, and the demand is very high, I always turn down many offers because I don’t have the potential to supply in large scale. Clients prefer my products because they are always fresh and clean. I have always maintained high standard of cleanness and quality so as to always be the most preferred supplier.
From my income I have been able to take care of my bills, and support my aunt who is terminally ill. I also pay school fees, about $10 for my nephew in lower primary school. I also subscribe to a local youth group and do some table banking paying $10 every month.
During my free time, I always like playing soccer, teaching my nephew how to read and right. I love my garden and so I spend quite a lot of time working on it. My hobbies include dancing, socializing and meeting new people.

My Business

My name is Samuel Nyongesa I come from Nambale village Busia County, in western Kenya .I am a small commercial farmer, engaging in traditional African vegetables. I provide fresh, and high quality vegetables to my clients.
I have about 1 acre of land but currently I only utilize quarter of the land, since I don’t have the resource for expansion. I grow traditional African vegetables and sell it to fellow villagers and wholesalers who come to my farm. The business is profitable because the vegetables grow very fast and that means more money for me. I rarely use fertilizer and that has greatly increased my revenues, since I cut on the cost of production.
I spend $30 as production costs each month, (buying seeds and labor) .My monthly revenue is $180 and so in a good month I make a profit of $150.
I am looking forward at great interaction with all stakeholders.

Loan Proposal

I am requesting for a loan to purchase a kickstart money maker pump to irrigate my farm during dry spell,I have already sank a well to serve me with water during dry seasons .The pump goes at $135 The loan would help me fund this purchase ,since i have saved $40 for the pump,I would really be very grateful for your support.Thank you
