About Me

My name is Kenneth Munene. I was born on 11thnovember 1990. I was 5 years old when i started my primary education at Nthimbiri Primary School where i completed my primary education in 2005.I then joined Meru School in 2006 for my high school education and completed my Kenya Secondary Certificate Education 2009.
The main challenge i have encountered after completing high school is the raising of capital to start my own cleaning business which was about $800.00 ( 63,000 KES), that includes the cost of buying cleaning materials and creating awareness of the service
The idea came to me when i needed money for my college tuition ,i could have gotten the money if i had started an income generating activity since we don't have enough land for farming. i started offering the cleaning services but due to lack of enough equipments and man power it was difficult to expand or manage the business.
My home place which is a bit arid and always there is dust I discovered that people needed cleaning services so with the little capital I had from my account I decided to start a cleaning company that is contracted by offices and hospitals at a fee to clean and dispose any waste. this has greatly impacted on my life as I am a charitable person and during my free time mostly would spend time provide my expertise to children's homes and the elderly people in my community so this company has brought my passion and a change to grow financially and be able to lender better quality of service, earn an income and transform lives.
A few months into the project of cleaning from the money i got from zidisha i have been able to save enough to venture into agribusiness and my first step was the purchase of two heifers and making of a zero grazing
I want my children to get the chance i never had to get quality education with less strain and have all the resources to see them succeed in life. so since a cyber cafe can only provide for me that's why i have chosen to start something that will ensure that years down the lane.
In my past time i like reading books on business including management, business agribusiness and entrepreneurship articles. which have formed my core values as an upcoming entrepreneur.

My Business

my business provides cleaning solutions to companies and medium institutions in my locality at a fee depending on the area and the intensity of the cleaning that they seek. in a semi arid area this business as come in handy to many of my clients who need the cleaning to ensure that there property and equipments are dusted and cleaned in order to be able to provide there goods and services in an environment that conducive. with my business I am able to raise 100$ with each cleaning service where by 60% of it goes to paying the two people I hire to help do the cleaning and the remaining is what I use to purchase the cleaning materials and replace the broken ones and the reminder is what I now save for my own use and for the expansion of the business.
in this months profits i was able to start the construction of a zero grazing unit which costs around 555$ i have been able to get 342$ so far and still moving forward with this new venture into agribusiness where i expect to generate around 7,255$ annually which is the average income on dairy farming with a unit containing two dairy cows. this is gotten from the sales of milk and the calves that the cows produce annually.

Loan Proposal

with the full funding of the loan intend to buy iron sheets costing 42$ two bags of cement 60$ sand and gravel costing 83$ the i will also get artificial insemination services 22$ for both of my heifers since they are of age and have been on heat twice
this will help me lay a foundation for my dairy farming project and and since they will be well kept and the zero grazing will provide a clean place my cows will be less exposed to illnesses hence cutting down on the maintenance cost. the Artificial insemination will grantee hybrid calves that will produce larger quantities of milk and if they are bulls good tonnage for beef production.
therefore with all this in place after the nine months gestation period i expect to get around 66$ per month which is 8,000$.

    The Clean Life

In terms of life, at first sight people seem
    Like ants: move sand, dig holes, walk in line;
    But we make far worse a society;
Even I smoke holes through my lungs and throat,
Write down petty words and blow sugar smoke,
Nauseous from the smell of flesh, gas, and grease,
While outside I see the motions of metal:
    Automated beasts with violent screams,
For the chorus of our requests for more.
Hoping to feel something: even a bee's sting,
Look! They are dead, poisoned bellow our feet,
Where fake stones lead the way towards main street,
Lined with buildings and stores: our overlords,
Whose glass and metal skins reflect the glow,
Of life, off the grass, up towards the sky,
Where blue has been smudged gray smog with grime,
While we drill holes, count paper; see no sign,
That our skin and minds are gasping so choked,
For the clean life where you live; our not sold,
To pull levers inside the beast's throat,
Spin gears in its stomach, propel its limbs,
Digging caverns to swallow up greed's din:
Chowing down heavy, throwing up red sparks,
That splash on our faces leaving black spots.
    by
    Peter Black
we can all make it better by making it clean

many ask me where i drew my inspiration from and its data like this that made me fell that my business was needed i may not transform the whole of Africa but i can change one life and create a ripple effect.
1.8 million people die every year from diarrhoeal diseases (including cholera); 90% are children under 5, mostly in developing countries.
88% of diarrhea disease is attributed to unsafe water supply, inadequate sanitation and hygiene.
