About Me

My name is hellen, I am a family woman in my late thirties. I was born in a rural setting which most people in my country refer to as ushago. We had a farm where we grew our staple food, the country's main food ; maize. In our home stead we were both farmers and business people too. I often helped my mother prepare boiled maize which we sold at the market. we also ground a few to make flour for cooking and later in the even sold roasted maize near the local stage. i have since grown up as a business minded person.

My Business

I belong to what here in kenya call ' chamas' , Our group makes bead products and sell them to local shops and markets. We consist of four members and we all contribute equally in man power. We also help each other raise funds to gather more stock and sell. I recently started my own business dealing with cereals. I wish to be financially independent and so my business will enable me to continue feeding my children, even when the chama as taken a partial break. I am only able to sell maize and beans in my small shop. I am able to make a total of 2500ksh per week, so repaying the loan will not be difficult for me,if i am fully funded.

Loan Proposal

As i have explained, i have a background dealing with cereals. I believe that a great journey always starts with a small step. If i am able to get funded, i will take the next step to get enough stock for my shop. For now i can only afford to sell maize and beans. with the money lent, i will use 15$ to add rice. 12$ will help me add green grams and 15$ will buy yellow beans for my shop. I also wish to add ground nuts for 10$ and i will add millet and sorgham flour for about 10$. This is because i have been getting requests from customers who wish to buy them to make porridge. the remaining amount will help me buy packaging material. I do hope that this time my loan will get fully funded, and that i will be able to reach my dreams one day.
