My names are Catherine Ngesa Otieno.I was born in the year 1971 in Kericho County, where i was still schooling while my parents were still working as paramedics in Kericho District Hospital. While i was still schooling,my parents got a transfer which forced me and my other siblings to transfer to Lanet location,Gorofaa estate,Nakuru-East constituency,Nakuru county,Kenya. This is where i enrolled in my O level education in Shinners Girls High School.Later after my O level,I was enrolled in Tracom college, where i underwent a certificate in secretarial and front office. After the college,i was employed in a Insurance firm in Nakuru where i used to work as a secretary. This lasted for four years until i got some capital from my monthly savings, which resulted me to start my Mobile phone services and the M-pesa services.Thank you.
I am a small scale trader here in Pipelice shopping centre,Lanet. My business deals in selling new mobile phones(Itel, nokia, samsung, tecno and wing)phone covers,Memory-cards,1GB,2GB & 4GB,M-pesa services(depositing & withdrawing),and computer accessories. My business is registered with the local authorities and granted a single business permit. The permit runs for one year and it is renewable annually. The business has been in operational for the last one and a half years.I enjoy being in the M-pesa sector since i am repaid through the commission in every trans-action i make for the deposits & withdrawal services from my royal customers from the safaricom company.
Normally,in a good month i get a profit of between kshs.7,000 to Kshs.12,000.The profit i get i do re-investing in my shop 40%,family up-keep 20% ,future investments for my family at 20% and the rest 20% i pay my bills.
Through the assistance from the Zidisha microfinance by financing my business,i can even make more sales and this will make my shop improve by a way of adding more phone accessories and also add more cash float in my mobile services.Thank you in advance and God bless you all.
