I am Gerald. I am a father of one boy child. I was born in rural areas of Kenya and later migrated to Mombasa city where I sell shoes and second hand clotes. I work in the streets of Mombasa town where I hawk my stuff from door to door. It is a tough job but I am glad it puts food on the table.
I am also an active member of my local catholic church in Mombasa city.
My business deals with selling of shoes and second hand clothes. I normally make about USD 200 per month from this business. I hope to move to a permanent address in future - finances allowing and this is where Zidisha comes in handy.
I will use the money to buy half a dozen trousers which I will then sell to my clients. This will be an addition to the stock that I already have. My profit margin is about 35% and this will give good returns within a short time.
This growth is important because it allows me to compete effectively with my peers. Increased sales also means more income which is good for securingmy family's future.
