I was born in Kapkishiara Village of Bomet county South of rift valley 34 years ago to a polygamous family. My parents were farmers who engaged themselves in agricultural activities. I went to Kapkishiara primary school and proceeded to Tenwek secondary school for my high school education. Unfortunately I dropped out of my secondary school due to lack of fees. That is when I started helping my parents in their farm work activites. Out of the little savings that I had I decided to open a fruit shop. In the future I would want to own a lorry so that I can use to purchase produce from farmers directly
My business primarily entails sale of a variety of fruits. I source my stock from suppliers who buy it directly from farmers. I started this business close to four years ago out of the desire to engage myself in an income generating activity. My biggest challenge though has been getting sufficient capital to expand my business. But Thank God Zidisha is here.
My customers are the locals, schools, hotels and county offices. In the future I would want to expand my business and buy a lorry so that I can buy the fruits directly from farmers. What am so proud of my business is that up to thus far, it's been through sheer hard work and determination.
I will use this loan to buy more fruit stock. I foresee the total cost to be around US $80. This will help me get more profits. The profits that I will generate I will plough back to ensure that my business continuously grows. The more profits I generate the better my standards of living since I will be able enjoy the basic human rights
