About Me
I am Sharon Awuor a business woman. I currently hold a diploma in fashion and design. I run a modeling agency but on a very small scale. Currently I own a small shop that I use as my office though it doubles up as a store too. From this point I sell second hand clothes as well as new ones. I also have a group of three girls and 2 men who showcase my new designs in campuses and colleges in Kenya.
After such events we are always assured of good sales. I also do modeling on runways myself. In a good month we make $100 however this cannot sustain all my employees so most of them do it voluntarily. If our low income is due to the little stock that we currently have. If we got some funding we would expand our clothesline and also get flexibility since we will be able to move in many universities advertising our brand. That’s why Zidisha seems to be the perfect help i need. But I am confident that if given this loan I will make the best out of it. As a young adult I would love to be self employed and independent by the age of 30 and be able to sustain myself with my small business which shall have grown by then.
With the first amount from Zidisha, I intend to invest more in ladies clothing and shoes which tend to go faster than the men’s clothing. By the end of the year I intend to have showcased my designs to a wider audience and my target is to have tripled my stock as well as my profits. I also intend to develop and make my brand name famous in Kenya. This will increase my customer base as well as increase the rate of purchases and supplies.
My Business
My shop is called shawuor designs. It started in late 2013 and so far the response has been wonderfuln. As earlier stated in a month the business generates about $100 in profits. This is however challenging since were it not for the voluntary workers the profit would not be reasonable. My biggest challenge is the fact that I lack funds to increase my stock. My major target of customers are university and college students. This is a very huge group in that the stock goes can not satisfy them. I hope to use this fund to increase my stock and expand the supply hence raise my profits. By next year my wish is to have my own boutique that will ensure efficiency and constant supply of clothes for my customers. I also hope to employ more models to showcase my designs. I would be happy if their renemuration was encouraging. In the next one year if given the loan I hope to be making about $500 per month and this will have helped me financially. I can afterwards be able to sustain my sibling’s education as well as further my own education. In future I might even start a foundation because there are people out there who need this kind of help but accessing it is the challenge. I am so confident that my business will do well since fashion is something that cannot be easily ignored by anyone. People will always look for good clothes and that’s what we will always offer. The fashion trend worldwide currently is so encouraging and hence stability of our business.
Loan Proposal
Given this chance i will spend $100 to buy more clothes for my clothesline. the remaining amount of about $47 shall be spend for our mobility and travel expenses. this loan will be so effective to me since once the stock is increased i will be able to make high profits and make quick repayments. stock worth $100 will generate a profit of $100 within a month or even more depending on the other logistics.
