Hello Lenders,
Hope this message finds you well.
I was born in the slopes of Mt. Kenya, Central Province. I am the fourth born in a family of seven. My parents were peasant farmers who did menial jobs to support our education. Unfortunately, in 1978 my dad fell ill and died shortly after. It was not easy to live with only my mother feeding the entire family. Most of the times we skipped school to help her do odd jobs so we could manage something to eat that day. Luck was with me as I was a right student and I got scholarship from a good Samaritan who paid my education through to college. After college, I got a job as a house help in a nearby village so I could help my mother educate my younger siblings. While at this, a business idea was born and I have never looked back. I am from the Kikuyu community where we dont give up until we make it in life. I got married to a wonderful man and we were blessed with two handsome boys aged 15 years and 11 years respectfully. The eldest want to become a chemical Engineer when he grows up, the younger one is still trying to figure out what he wants to become.
My hobby is walking, I love walking with all my heart, it helps my heart to remain young. I also love reading novels to keep my brain active.
My business entails doing photocopy for students around the area where i have stationed my business. We have four big colleges around namely, Zetech, NIBS, Kenyatta University and Ruiru Institute of Business Studies. These have made our business thrive very much. I open the business as early as 7.00AM and close late our when there is a lot of demand for our services. I chose this business as it is available all year round as these are private colleges who do not break at any one semester. I pocket $650 per month, i pay my worker a salary of $100, pay for the office $80, buy materials to use like photocopy papers, cartridges and other items. In a better month I pocket a profit of $450 which I use to better my family living standards and also assist my husband pay school fees for our children. This will make our life good and enjoyable. I also help the less fortunate where I can.
Once I get the loan, i wish to start an MPESA services shop which will be located next to my cereals shop. Am anticipating the cost will be $1000 which is equivalent to KES100,000.00. This business will help me to pay school fees for my first born whom i took to a boarding school to better his education. I also intend to sponsor my niece whom i educated up to form four to study ICDL course to better her future. I expect this business to give me close to 20,000.00 per month as returns.
