About Me

About Me
I am Akuu Joshua 32years, and black in complexion. I am third in a family of nine. I come from Sandema in the Upper East Region of Ghana. At the age of 5years, I was sent to my uncle at Tetrefu where I started schooling in the Bosomtwe Atwima district in the Ashanti region, Ghana. My uncle his wife are into farming as their main occupation which I offered a lot of help to them especially during school holidays.
I stayed with my uncle and completted my basic education where I wrote my basic education certificate examination. It was very necessary to help in the farm. Right after I left the Junior high school and our final exam results were released, I was placed at Opoku Wari Senior High School and to my surprise Agriculture science was given to me to offer. I offered the course very well with great passion and completed successful with flying colours . My Second cycle education (SHS) school days, I use to visit my parents at Sandema once in a blue moon. My uncle admires and appreciate my efforts alot .Farming was practicals to me in my studies. at those days was now like moving from learning theory in the class room to study practical’s using plants and chemicals and the soil. My studies was born out of determination, dedicaton and hard work. I manage to complete successfully. To be a master of my field, I continue my first degree at Ghanas only university of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the Ashanti Region to study business management. After completion, I manage to raise my initial resources for the business and continue gradually until I put up my own cocoa business.
I lent money from a micro-finance company after some time. The fertility of my farm was so great.fertility of my farm land, I never run into losses. My wife and children are all happy we can cater for ourselves.I benefited a lot and i thank God for that .

My Business

My Business
The family has adopted cocoa production as their means of employment. I have a great passion in doing i.e. currently I am one of the consistent providers of cocoa to the government of Ghana. I am gradually changing my food crops farming to all cash crops. I now produce cocoa seedlings for other farmers to buy. It is of late more profitable and rewarding as compared to food crops. Off late I don't plant food crops in big quantity but rather in a small quantity for family consumption even though their patronage was high. I used $2000 to commence my farming business. My children education bills are settle by the income generated from the farm yields. The little income which remains after all the cost and my debts are settle, is further injected on the farm to create bumper yields.Portion of the loan ($100) shall be executed on building fence for cocoa seedlings. I will also use $150 to buy chemicals to spray the cocoa . 20% out of the loan will be executed the purchase or buy farm inputs such as cutlasses, holes, water cans etc. $500 will be used to rehabilitate the storage house. &700 will be used to acquire new plot to raise new cocoa trees for higher yields.
$150 will be used to hire labor to clear the weeds in the cocoa farms and to prepare the new farm lands for cocoa seedlings to be planted to expand the cocoa farm and increase future yields. I shall donate $100 to support young and hardworking guys to also generate businesses . I always advocate for the youth to enter into the agriculture business. I will also offer $100 to support the building of a community library in my village which will promote studies in my village. I will finally use the remainder of the money to pay for my masters studies.

Loan Proposal

When I get the loan I shall use part to hire more labour to take good care of the farm by clearing the weeds, spraying the cocoa and the vegetables and to also harvest those that are ready for harvesting.
I also have the intention of buying some of the cocoa beans from the village farmers.I shall use part of the money to do the purchasing of the cocoa from the local farmers to increase the tons of cocoa beans I supply to the Government.
I shall use part of the money to expand the storage house to get enough space to store the cocoa. Not only that but I shall buy freezers and refrigerators to store the perishable goods to make them available at all time.
I have the intention of acquiring a big plot to expand my cocoa farm. The remaining money shall be use to do that.

I provide cocoa to the government. I provide farm crops such as yam, cassava, plantain, cocoyam, as well as vegetables. A lot of people need my food because they are quality. They need my foodstuffs in high rate. I used $1000 to start my farming business. I used the money from the farm to look after my children in school. Investment in growing more crops to help me grow the business.
I will use part ($50) of the money to develop my home. I will also use part ($150) to support the needy. I want to produce more bags of cocoa for the government. The vegetables harvested will be used by the people in the community and the nation as a whole. I will use part of the money ($100) to hire labours to work in the farm during both cultivation and harvesting of farm products. I will also use part of the money ($50) to help my husband to further his education. I will also use some of the money ($50) to further my education. The farm will be used for research Centre for students in the agriculture programme. I will provide a lot of tomatoes to the people in the community as well as those in the nation as well. I will provide more garden eggs to supply the people in the community and the rest of the people in other communities in order to meet their demand. I will also help the needy in the community and others from different societies. I will expand the business to commercial farming. I may need money for this expansion or growing of the business. I advocate for the youth to also be in the agriculture business. I will use part of the money to develop my church and community.
My revenue is $1000 and so my net is $600 a month. This is expected to increase as when the demand for my service becomes high as i am anticipating.
