About Me

I am a young entrepreneur as well as leader in my community. I have successfully completed my secondary and college education. I am currently serving on the National Youth Bunge Association which is a USAID project to empower local young people in Kenya to be entrepreneurs.

As a young leader in rural area I have started computer bureau services which entails offering computer services and also training to the local people and I started with one computer but now I have 5 but I intend to have 10 computers by the end of 2014 so that I can provide my services to more people. Local rural areas in Kenya lack computer facilities thus with the digital era the demand is high because everyone wants to learn computer hence am capitalizing on this and making my business viable and effective.

My Business

My computer bureau business was started in 2012 and is based in Kibichoi trading center.

I have employed one young person who is skilled & experienced to manage the business on daily basis but over the weekend I usually spend time at the business so that I can actively be involved in the business operation and management also to know my customers.

My business involves offering computer services and training to local people and of late the demand has gone up because the government policy to computerise all its operation thus to access most of government services you have to use computer.

I intend to expand my business by purchasing more computers, a good printer, a good scanner and also provide wide range of computer services thus through the support from Zidisha community then I will serve more people.

Loan Proposal

Buying a Multi-purpose Laminator and a Binding machines
My business at the moment is doing well. The multi-purpose laminator and binding machine are the next on the line to be bought. I have felt challenged for lacking this important tools.
In my trading center there are Colleges, secondary schools, primary schools, public and private institutes that do offer my business the typesetting and printing services. The fact remains that I do the job very well only to do the binding and laminating elsewhere thus acting as middle man.
I have budgeted for the multi-purpose laminator at 111 dollars, laminating pouch at 13 dollars and Binding machine at 45 dollars.
Once the funds are raised and machines are bought they will increase the revenue, expand my business and add nutritional value in my family.

    Hi Joseph
You have not paid for a long time and have not communicated either. This is no way to treat lenders. Please tell us what is going on.

I have opted to set a new day of paying the loan from Wednesday to Monday. The genuine reason is that i have opened a new business in my village that involves fresh fruits and packaging. The fruit parlour has come along way from my own objective this year, it's a brain child to my existing computer bureau shop. The capital raised was withdrawn from my savings and therefore affecting my loan repayment. I kindly request and propose a new day of paying my loan.
This goes to Zidisha family, lenders, mentors and all team that made me realize this golden opportunity from Zidisha Micro-lending movement

    Thanks Zidisha team

Hi Zidisha team, am humbly suggesting to propose a 2 weeks instalment of my loan payment as from Thursdays of every week.
The very last week i experienced cash flow block from my account partners where i do regular savings. This was due to maintenance and my e-banking issues with the organization hence issues with my business and repay of Zidisha loan as well. Am very sure of pending arrears of KES 3,867 as per today. Kindly receive my sincere apology due to late payment.
it is also my concern that i have maintained 100% loan payment previously untill issues with my e-banking partners who had held KSH 30,000 but now am glad the case is fully settled hence i will clear the loan effectively from next week Thursday

    Thanks Zidisha team and Lenders

Kindly check upon my cheque instalment KES 1,555 and KES 205 respectively posted on April 21st 2014 amounting KES 1,760. I ought to have paid KES 1,459 but i paid overdue amounting KES 301.

I have checked on my email reminding me of due payment. The only issue that i experienced last week was about Network failure, this mostly happened on the rural areas where network provider of account that am using had to carry on maintenance and upgrading of their network. Once more, check on my Loan instalment on the above mentioned date

Can you clarify on the amounts that will be spent on printing papers, keyboards and laptops? "I will be in position to purchase printing papers at Kshs 2500, new key boards at Kshs 3000, and one more laptop at kshs 15000" 2500 + 3000 + 15000 = 20500Kshs, but the loan is for almost 130000Kshs. How much do you think your profits will increase by and what will you do with the rest of the money? Will you be able to repay the loan in full?

Hi Meric, am employed so I will dedicate part of my salary to repaying the loan and also part of my savings from business and loan from Zidisha if granted will be used to purchase items worth Kshs 20500. The following is breakdown of items to be purchased:
      6 Rims of printing papers @ Kshs 415 = 2490
      5 keyboards @ kshs 500 = 2500
      1 Hp laptop @ Kshs 15000 = 15000
      Total = 19990

I anticipate the revenue to increase by 20% because of new keyboard which will enable the clients type fast as the current one are default and defaced so it takes time to trace a letter. Also the laptop will assist in controlling the workstation because currently the business is using P2 desktop which is very slow and it keeps on switching off and lossing data.

      please contribute towards my loan

    Dear lenders,

Rural areas in Kenya lack basic facilities despite the government new policy thus I decided to invest in the computer services because currently the government operation is computarised but even the government office at divisional level don't have computers thus apart from provide the services to the individual residence am also providing services to institutions like government offices, schools and churches thus the demand for the services is high. I am capitalizing on the demand but also planning to introduce other services like internet & photography because they don't exist and with this I will be in position to empower my people as I earning a living ---- social enterprise.
