About Me

My names are Mary Wanjiru Mwangi and a Kenyan by birth. I reside in Githurai Progressive and am married and blessed with four children.
My children are both in primary school within the community and they usually perform well.
I have successfully completed certificate in secretarial hence employed by the ministry of immigration of Kenya as a clerk. I have enrolled for diploma in secretarial classes so that when I complete, I can be promoted to higher position where I will have a better salary.
My husband is self employed whereby he runs and manages a fast food store in town hence we usually put all our revenue together at the end of the month to cater for our bills and putting a side for saving thus I have been using to save and start for a green grocery business which is being managed by an employee whom I have hired but over the weekend I do assist her.

My Business

My salary and revenue from my husband's business is used to offset the household bills, school fees and savings but I have been using the savings to start a green grocery project whereby I have hired a young lady who is involved in day to day activities but over the weekend I assist her.

I have many clients because I have maintained cleanliness at my premises and also good customers skills.

The average monthly sales is Kshs 45 000 and the average total net revenue is Kshs 7 000 hence with the loan I intend to introduce more varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables hence boosting the income of my family. I will use part of my salary to pay the loan so that my business can grow.

Loan Proposal

My business involves managing and running a green grocery and I have hired a young lady who is involved in day to day activities. My business currently involves buying some limited fruits and vegetables from farms then selling them to the local community but due to public demand I want to introduce more fruits and vegetable that have been requested by clients. The money will be used to purchase the following mangoes at kshs 2000, avocado at kshs 2000, Kales at kshs 2000 and potatoes at kshs 2500. New services of delivery products to residential places and offices will also be introduced so that we can reach out to more clients hence making more sales.

I am a VM. I phoned Wanjiru today at 6.07pm. Her number is not working and so are those of her relatives. I suggest a further investigation.

      Mr. Shehi,

Thanks for looking into this. I totally agree with your suggestion of an investigation. What kind of investigation are we talking about, though? A police investigation? In my opinion, that would be best since I feel there has been bad faith on Ms. Mwangi's part.

      Thanks,
      Cris

        Cris,
I mean a police one so just borrowers like me to keep taking repayment seriously.

    Zidisha,

Why does Mary Mwangi have a 100% on-time repayment rate if she has not made a single repayment and is past due?

Her loan was disbursed at the end of Nov 2013. Her initial repayment term was 13 months which has now increased to 43 months. After her reschedule her first repayment was due on Feb 7. We are now at the end of March 2014 and have no news and no repayments. When is this going to be looked into?

Does she not realize she has a duty to repay? This is a microlending organization, not a charity.

    Cris

    Dear Zidisha lelnders,

Thanks all who supported my loan by contributing because I received the cash and used it as I hard stated and the revenue from my business has increased because I have varieties on fruits and vegetable. I am capitalizing on this christmas because the buying power is high thus by end of this month I will have paid my first installement most likely half of my loan because the business is good and more profit. I will plan to import some fruiots from Uganda as from next month because in Kenya there will be few fruits and will be expensive. Thanks all who supported my busuiness.
