I am John Kamau Kinuthia, from Kiptangwanyi trading center. I was born in Muriricua village, Kiptangwanyi sub-location which is in Gilgil district. I attended Muriricua Primary School, and later went to Muriricua secondary school where I completed my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education. I attended a course of painting at a local college in Gilgil town where I trained myself how to paint for about nine months. After the college I did some casual paintings at the shopping center before I settled down and opened a business that sells paints at the trading center. I live in plot number 126 at Kiptangwanyi.
My business at the shopping center entails selling of paints. This is a profitable business and it has been doing well since I started it. I have been in this business for four years now and it is now well established at the shopping center. I usually have many customers who come to buy different types of paints in my shop. I usually buy my supplies from Nakuru in large quantities and at a wholesale price. the main challenges that affect the business is fluctuation of prices every now and then of these commodities that I sell.
My business of paints will improve a great deal by this loan that I will get from Zidisha organization. I would like to add more stock of paints and not only only will I increase the quantity of stock but will also get the best quality in order to improve the customer service in my business. I usually depended on order which made the cost of running the business to be too high due to frequent movement to get the supplies. Now with the loan I will be able to have ready stock in my shop.
