About Me

My name is Joash Omolo born on 17th April 1969, a second born in a family of five made up of an elder brother and three sisters. My parents now retired led a humbled life but still struggled to see us all through school. They always emphasized to us the need and importance of education as knowledge is the best and most valuable asset they can bequeath us.
I started my pre-primary learning at Railways Nursery in Nakuru, later Lenana Primary School, Kenyatta Secondary School and the Koelel High School for Advanced level form five and six. Later in 1992 I enrolled at the Technical University (formerly Kenya Polytechnic) for Certified Public Accountant course. A tough course it was but through hard work and determination I managed to perform extremely well in Part One thus proceeded to Part Two with examinations slated from December that year. This was enough motivation as I was focused in attaining my CPA (K) in the shortest time possible.
This was not to be as my dream was abruptly shattered around November of 1992 just a few days away from the exams, when I became sick all over sudden, lots of back pain and sweating at night. After visiting several doctors I was diagnosed with Tuberculosis of the spine and within seven days I was completely paralyzed from the waist downwards. My life came to a shocking standstill as I didn’t know what to do, my family was equally concerned as one of their hopes was right there struggling for his life. Gradually God gave us the courage and hope to move forward albeit the challenges managed to get started on a rigorous treatment protocol and had to be in and out of hospital severally at Rift Valley general hospital, Menengai Nursing Home and Kijabe Hospital for an operation. My strong will, trust in God and support from my family helped a lot in the recovery process as I was entirely nursed from home. Gradually the lower limbs started getting back the sensation and strength thus was able to move around on a wheelchair. Physiotherapy was persistent and has continued to be a major component of the treatment plan to date. At present am now fairly mobile moving around on a pair of elbow crutches.
Fast forward, I now have a family a wife and two daughters. The eldest one is in high school while the younger one in primary school, both sitting their respective national examinations next year. Remembering what my parents did and the sacrifices they made to get me and other siblings to school, I wouldn’t want anything less for the two girls. It has however been a challenge paying their school fees leading to them being sent home most frequently thus missing vital learning time. The two of them require at least $1000 per year for school fees. The income I get from my current employment is barely enough to meet my family needs let alone school fees and medical expenses. Even now as we speak they have been sent back home after a week of learning.
It is my humble request to any kind donor to assist in every way possible just to help the girls get education and realize their dreams too. I know my major dream was shattered years back due to illness but that notwithstanding, I can still realize the same through the two girls’ success in their education and later careers in life. They are my hope and source of motivation to struggle through life regardless of my physical challenge.

My Business

I do have immediate plans for the future too, of having a small or medium size business to supplement the employment income. I have already identified two areas which I will be sharing with Zidisha members in due course.
Currently am employed in a medium third party medical insurance firm as a medical claims assessor. The employment income is not enough to finance my daughters education thus am seeking for financial assistance in form of a loan that I will be able to comfortably pay back over the agreed period of time.
The girls learning keeps on being interrupted when they are sent away for school fees thus wasting vital school hours as well as being tormented psychologically. It is my belief that if the loan application succeeds I will be able to sort out their school fees for a year and enable them settle down comfortably in their studies. This is my major challenge which if sorted out will then help me focus on the immediate business plans which I have in the pipeline to guarantee family continuous source of income in future. I humbly request for your kind assistance for the loan amount of $1000 which will go a long way in helping them realize their dreams.

Due to the current financial constraint as a result of low business at place of work, I propose a new installment amount of KES 200 in the interim period until the situation improves. Thereafter I will increase the amount appropriately to settle the loan amount in full. Otherwise I once again thank all my generous lenders as the loan enabled one of my daughters to go back to school and complete the last school term calendar for the year. God bless you all and long live Zidisha family.

I acknowledge your notification of late loan repayment that was due on November 8th. Due to circumstances beyond by control I was not able then but will do the needful this week. I trust by the end of the week or early next week all scheduled payments will be back on course. Thank you for the continued support.
