About Me

I am Lance Dzombo, a father of three children; a boy and two girls. The first and second are in high school while the last is in primary level.
I live in the coast of Kenya Mombasa at Walea Village in Kaloleni. I went through primary level of education and later joined a high school up to form four where I completed my studies before venturing into business.
I started business so as to increase my income and also i found it interesting being a farmer and at the same time a businessman. I started other project of like small poultry farmer and bought one cattle so as to boost my income from the milk sale.
These agricultural activities will help me in my business since I want to start another project of planting kales and cabbages so as to make the work easier in terms of selling them instead of travelling all a long the way to mombasa to buy them from wholeselars. My pastime hobby is reading and singing.

My Business

My business is a grocer and since it is, I sell goods like cabbages, kales, tomatoes, onions, bananas potatoes, spinach and many others.
The demand of this business is high though not for all the time, and this is because the goods i sell are basic, meaning that they are needed by the consumers each and every day to satisfy their needs and also because the population around my business is high.
Most of the people prefer to come to my grocer simply because of the way I handle them and the goods i offer are always fresh. I offer some service after sale such as packaging the goods and I also treat them gently and equitably. Since my customers come in big numbers my and there is no much wastages as in perishability and minor damages to goods are being contained properbly there is profitability to this business.
Some of the risks incurred in this business is like kales going bad but controlled by avoiding holding a large stock and selling in time to avoid them staying more than one day. Another risk is experienced when tomatoes are being damaged, where this is avoided by buying only tomatoes which at once by mix them with the ones which are ready to be used and few which can last for some time.
I spend almost Ksh,30,000 per month on buying the goods and get almost Ksh.40,000 after selling in the whole month and since there are some expenses like transport, packaging materials, I spend Ksh.4,000 on this expenses thus making a profit of Ksh.6,000 per month.

Loan Proposal

Hi zidisha, first and foremost I want to thank you for your unceasing support you are according to my family. At the moment my family has got plenty of food due to increased in milk production and eggs, this is due to the previous loans which I took from you and planted grass for my cattle and started the project of layering poultry. Through this vegetable business I have achieved a lot of things to even introducing me to you zidisha.
This loan I am applying for I will use it to pay form two school fees for My last born daughter Lulu since it is the only inheritance I can give to my child as the land is becoming scarce. I am going to use almost 95% for School fees and the remaining 5% I add into my grocery business.
I thank you zidisha for helping me educate my kids
