my name is Dorothy Namfukwe, im 22 years old.i was born in popota in choma.my fathers names are George simfukwe and my mothers names are ireen simfukwe.my father is a retired agricultural officer and my mother is a marketeer.i was born in a family of four and iam the last born.i have two sisters and a brother.my older siblings have their own own in other towns.i live with my parents and my siter.i completed my grade twelve in 2012 at jembo high school in pemba, choma district. Iam currently at zambia college of agriculture in monze.inm pursuing a diploma in general agriculture.during my free time,i like to garden and to help my mother to sell at the market.I enjoy am doing because im very interested in agriculture and i hope to own my own farm one day.
i have a small shop right in front of my parents house.i sell things like bath soap, toothpaste, washing soap, sweets, sugar, mealie meal and sometimes vegetables.these goods are on demand in my area because it is so far from town.therefore a lot of people come to my shop to buy groceries. the profits i make,i use to pay for my school fees as well as for transport and accommodation.during school days my sister helps me to run the shop while am at school.this helps to keep the business going even when im not around.she knows where i order the groceries from therefore when stock is running out,she replenishes.i raised the money to start up the shop through getting a part time job at a supermarket called spar.
when i get the loan i will use it to order more staff for my shop.that way i will have a wide variety of goods.at the moment i only have limited stock due to lack of sufficient funds.most times people come to my shop looking for items i dont have.therefore i would like to have a wide range of goods like cooking oil, rice, juice, and tea leaves.when i get this loan im very certain it will give me good profit beacuse i order sugar for instance at ZMW 10 and i sell it at ZMW 16,mealie meal i order at ZMW 65 and i sell at ZMW 85.therefore the more good i order the more profit i make.this will help me with my school fees as well as helping my parents at home.my shop is of benefit to the people in my community because they can access groceries right where they are unlike paying for a bus to go to town.
