About Me

My names are Job Muma, am 31 years old. Am a Kenyan citizen, Born in Gucha district. I live in Free Area Nakuru, Kenya and am married to a beautiful lady; Rachael Wanjiku and we have two kids; Maina and Ny’ang’au. I went through my primary school education in Gucha then I studied in Menengai high school Nakuru. After the KCSE exams in the year 2003 I joined the TRACOM COLLEGE Nakuru in the year 2004 where I studied diploma in information Technology (IT) which was my dream field because since my young age I was always amazed by the way computers functioned.
Therefore went through the course was a major breakthrough towards achieving my dream of being a programmer. After college in the year 2007 I was employed as a computer teacher in Eastmore Girls high school Nakuru for two years till end year 2008. In the year 2009 I joined African Institute of Research and Development a college in Nakuru town as a system administrator till end 2012 when I decided to quit because I had already saved some money enough to buy two computers and put up a cyber in Free Area Estate.
I decided to put up a cyber in my estate because there only existed one inefficient cyber and most of the people used to go town for the same services. The whole of year 2013 my business has been doing well since I have bought an additional computer I now have three computers in my cyber. I had about Zidisha from a group of people who said they had benefited I thought it’s a service I should try since I have previously tried to acquire credit in banks but they always require huge security which I don’t have, the interest rates are also very high (23% and above), this makes most people operating small businesses not qualify.
The proceeds from my business help me to support my young family and pay school fees for my elder son who is in pre-school and maintain the operations of my business.

My Business

My business: I Operate a cyber café in Free Area Estate Nakuru I started this business in the January 2013 with a total of two computers and right now I have three, I started this business to earn a living and to save the residents of this estate from travelling to town for browsing services
Demand: our country is undergoing a major transformation from analogue to digital; there is a major campaign for people to familiarize themselves with computers and internet since even most of the government departments’ services and advertisements are being displayed on their respective sites. The youth form the biggest group of my customers since they frequent the cyber to access the social and entertainment sites. The demand for more cyber services is still high in this area and there is still room for more because the population is high which translates to high demand.
Preference: my cyber is a preference to many firstly because I introduced a cyber which offered fast browsing, which was efficient and reliable when there was none offering competitive services. Which up to now I have maintained my trust and this have resulted to increased number of people who browse daily in my cyber.
Profitability; the profits in my business are attractive since I have many customers visiting my cyber. In December 2013 I have had on a daily basis received an average of 20 customers, this translates to an income of Kshs 600 a day
Risks: the risks involved include computer hardware breakdown which would require repair or a new one all together, others include competition since some other 2 cyber cafes have been put up and theft of computers is another threat
Am planning if I get this loan to add it to the savings I already have and purchase an additional computer. Am also planning to pay up this loan as soon as possible so as to benefit from other bigger loans.

Loan Proposal

My names are Job Oanda. I live in Free Area estate; Nakuru, I own a cyber café in our estate, I started this business in the January 2013 with a total of two computers and right now I have three, I started this business to earn a living and in additional because there was only one cyber in our estate and whose services customers were very unhappy about. So I decided to put a fast internet cyber, I also wanted to provide reliable and efficient services to customers in my area that is open very early and close as late as 2100hrs this gave my customers even those who need internet services when they come from their jobs late. I also decided to charge an affordable charge per minute because most of my daily customers are the youth who visit various social sites such as Facebook. The customers from this area were used to travelling to town which is 5km away this was a very big inconvenience to them since they had to use some fare to town in additional to paying the cyber services
If I get this loan am intending to add the loan to some savings that i already have and purchase an additional computer to make a total of four so as to give my customers more sitting spaces. Am intending to expand my business to total of fifteen computers by the end of year 2015. I have tried to get credit from my bank and they demanded security inform high valued asset which I didn’t have. When I was introduced to Zidisha I was very glad that I have finally got a service that will help me boost and expand my favorite dear business. I was pleased by the low interest rates offered they are just amazing compared to the hefty rates offered by banks here.
