About Me

My name is Mary Okai. I am 45 years of age. I live in Madina, opposite assemblies of God church. I attended little angels primary school in lagos-Nigeria,and i attended Girls Academy for my secondary school education.I got married to a Ghanaian and moved to Ghana.
I see moving to Ghana as a blessing because when i got here i knew nothing about my surroundings. I quickly familiarized myself with the environment and made friends with people. Then I looked for the quickest business i could venture into which could both be lucrative and less tiring.Thats when i started buying goods to resell.
Ghana has a lot of tourist sites, and the people are very simple and hospitable. This kind of warm reception made me decide to live in Ghana permanently.
I have five children;3 girls and 2 boys.My first daughter wants to be a computer scientist,my other two daughters want to be doctors and my sons want to be lawyers.
When i have nothing doing i enjoy braiding my daughters' hair, and baking pastries for my family.

My Business

I buy and resell kitchen appliances and utensils. These goods are high in demand because they are mostly bought by women and students in the hostel.I chose this business because if the right capital is invested in it it could be very lucrative.
I normally use $500 to buy and when i resell i get a profit between $200 and $250 I use my revenue to help my husband in taking care of the children, and providing certain household needs.I then use the rest to repurchase my goods to resell.

Loan Proposal

I will use this money to purchase more kitchen appliances to resell. These kitchen appliances include; blenders, electric cookers, hot water kettles, rice cookers and microwaves.
ill use $80 to purchase blenders, then ill use $100 to purchase electric cookers, $60 to purchase hot water kettles,$70 to purchase rice cookers and $90 to purchase microwaves.
Once i purchase these goods and resell, ill use my profit to support my husband in taking care of our children and ill donate food and clothes to the homeless people in my vicinity.
i expect a 30-40% profit off this business.

It’s always a pleasure to lend to Mary. She respects the lenders by making regular repayments and repays the loan just as she had promised.
    I’ll support her again.
