About Me

My name is Felistus Mbithe.I am now 28 years old, married with one baby boy.I was born in Makueni County a place called Kilili, Katulani village. My parents raised me together with my other four siblings through hardship as our background was just humble. They educated me with the little they had through primary to secondary school where i passed well and qualified for Government sponsorship to University.I joined Egerton University in Nakuru for Bechelors Degree in Agriculture.I graduated in 2011 with second class upper division.
My important goal in life was to finish my university education. I had to hawk while i was in school by selling some biro pens to my fellow students for my pocket money since my parents could not afford because my other siblings were still in secondary schools.I started my Agricultural business of maize farming inJanuary 2013 after a long search of a job without success. The uniqueness of my area is that, it does not rain frequently as it is supposed to be but it is the best productive area when it rains. I only have one child aged 1 year and i would wish for him a better life when he grow up. My unique hobby is helping the needy people in my community.

My Business

My business is about maize farming and i supply bags of maize to nearest schools and hospitals.Maize is our areas staple food because many people consume githeri and ugali in their daily meals. It is through maize where one gets ugali flour in our area. Also, most schools in our area provide githeri food to the students and my production is usually on high demand. I chose this kind of business because i needed something which will help the community in terms of consumption. From my business which is now two years, my income per every harvest amounts to 120000 KSH and i do harvest twice a year so my annual income is 240000 KSH. My annual profit per year amounts to 150000 KSH. My profits has helped me a lot since the first profit helped me in digging a borehole, and bought a water pump and pipes to facilitate watering the maize plants.

Loan Proposal

If i get the loan, i will buy a new water pump for my maize plantation costing 83 dollars i.e 7500 KSH. The one i have is getting old and the functioning is low. With the new one, the work will become easier and the machine will pump a lot of water from the borehole. This will increase my profit since i will increase the maize plants because i will be sure of supplying enough water. Also the pump will also help my needy neighbours by using it to pump water in their farms hence raising production. I expect my profit to increase from 150000KSH to 250000 KSH.
