About Me

My names are Ronald Omambia from Nyamira county, Nyanza province, in Kenya (East Africa). I grew up in a small village called Boruma in Nyamira County. i started my education at Nyachururu Primary School and Mosocho Academy and later joined Cardinal otunga High school where i did my KCSE. I joined college after school and attained a craft certificate in electrical installation and later joined another college where i attained a diploma in ICT. Due to financial hardships, i couldn't continue with my education hence i decided to look for a job, i have done several casual jobs until i raised some capital to start my business. i am presently self employed and i have been in business for more than five years. My business involves what i learnt in college, Ienjoy working day after day and i also get to learn much both from my friends, customers and neighbours.
In lour society people believe in farming though they don't practice modern farming, they also value land so much that one without land is seen as hopeless in society - although i myself doesn't believe so.
I have worked hard to raise my family and my children could also like to learn and advance in ICT related studies. I have developed interest in information communication and technology and i really have passion in what i do. Icould like to improve my business further and serve a large number of people both from the neighbouring communities and nation at large.

My Business

i ran a cyber cafe and basic computer training in my local market centre, i chose this kind of business because i have passion in it. within my premises i offer many services including; basic computer training, Internet services, lamination, binding, typesetting, printing, photocopying and binding. these are services that are in big demand in my locality because the use of computer technology has a big positive impact to the lives of many in the local area. during the past days, Internet availability used to be found only in major towns and people had to travel over long distances to look for these services. schools, churches, students, parents and all individuals are nowerdays using these services. the biggest challenge is availability of cheap Internet services but with time i believe that all these challenges will be a thing of the past as technology is moving at a very high speed. i chose this type of business because i have vast knowledge about computers and the various services offered by the Internet, most of my competitors dont have enough knowledge in this field and this makes me the preferred choice among them and i believe as time goes by, i shall continue being their perfect choice because since i joined zidisha, i have greatly improved my business to the next level.
the cost of starting this business was a very big challenge at first because i lacked enough capital to start, i started with one computer ad a small printer, but with the loans i have raised from zidisha in the past i have been able to buy three more computer, a photo printer, laminating machine, binding, machine and paper cutting machine. these goods have made improve the ways in which i serve my customers and hence have lead to increased profits in my business hence improving my way of living and that of my family.
With the little profits that i make from my business, i use the cash to pay school fees for my son and also re-invest in my business, i also do some farming, i have planted bananas, beans, maize and lately i tried my hand on passion fruit farming with hope that these activities will help provide amicably for my family and also help sustain my business.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders, with the funds i have been able to raise from zidisha for the little time i have been in zidisha, i have been able to improvey way of living and my business has indeed moved to the next level. I now have four desktop computers and a total of four students who i am training basic computer skills. With the loan i expect from zidisha, i could like to use the money move to a new spacious business premises, set up a wireless network connection, pay for this year, s trade licences and premises rent so that i can i have humble time with my business without any interuption. By so doing, i excepect to cater for a rising number of customers hence lead to increased profits in my business. This will improve my business profits by at least 45 per cent and from here, i will be able to pay back my lian and cater for my family's basic needs.
