About Me

My name is Yvonne Odongo.I am 28years old.Being a girl and the eldest in a family of four,I have had to be of good examples to my siblings.I became a flight attendant with Kenya Airways before I even graduated from University.I worked for two years but was unfortunately retrenched in 2013.I used my savings to go back to school whilst also paying fees for my young brothers.Life became tough and I was even forced to move houses as no job was forthcoming.My love for interior design started from way back.I remember I posted a photo of myself on Facebook leaning on my curtain,and two friends asked who made my curtains.There and then my business was borne.I told them I did the curtains myself.They gave me their orders,I looked for the fabrics and personally delivered the curtains to them.I got referrals thereafter.I would take photos of the curtains I did normally sewn by a tailor at our shopping centre and shared the photos with my mother,friends and relatives via whatsapp.With time I had saved enough.A former colleague was flying to China and I requested her to bring me wallpapers.I finally found a shop in my neighbourhood.All seemed ok.I was always at the shop,I did everthing by myself save for sewing the curtains or cushions plus I had a motorcyclist on standby to deliver.I have had a strong support system from my family and a few friends.Mid last year I was sadly conned all my savings by a friend.By then my business had flourished and I had two employees.Picking up the pieces and forging ahead was very hard.I had to lay off one employee.My shop has been running for two years.I am requesting for a loan because I need to buy more stock therefore expanding my business.I am very passionate about my business.I would like to venture into painting and Gypsum works before the year ends.I love to read My Devoutional book,driving to scenic places,trying out new recipes,Playing with kids and swimming.

Loan Proposal

I will buy different qualities of curtain fabrics which vary from 400 KES to 1000 KES per metre to attract all classes of clientele.
I also intend to bring in different designs of curtain rods that is in measurements(1M,2M and 4M) in silver,gold and brass.Their prices ranges from 650 KES to 3500 KES depending on the measurements and whether it is single or double.
I will also create a website where I can display my works and where I can interact with my clients.This will cost me 25000 KES.
