About Me

I am mathew rono. I am 35 years old. Hard working and honest man.I grew up in a poor family of five siblings. I attended public schools for primary and secondary education. Through hard work, I performed well in my studies and got admission to university under government sponsorship. After graduating i got employed as a bank clerk where am still employed up to now. I have started venturing into poultry, vegetables and goats farming to have an alternative income. the venture is about one and half year old now.I live just next to the city therefore there is a big business opportunity in terms of available market for my products. The biggest setback is lack of conventional collateral for securing bank loans. i love watching football, listening to music and updating myself on current affairs during my free time.

My Business

I am in full time employment. I work as a bank clerk and the terms of the job is permanent and pensionable with net salary of kes 30,000 per month. I have also ventured in farming where i grow vegetables for sale and keep poultry and goats. the crops are grown in sacks and small containers because of the small piece of land that i am living in. There is ready market for the crops because i stay next to Nairobi city which has a big population and also i sell to nearby hotels. zidisha has been helping me for the last few months and by now i have a water tank for water harvesting for irrigation. my main costs include fertiliser, labour, pesticides and animal feeds and the revenue i get is about kes 15,000 per week from which i spent kes 5,000 on the costs incured on the farm. i spent the rest on household expenses and savings .

Loan Proposal

i am applying for this loan to purchase paultry feeds. i have 300 chicken that are 4 months old and am in need of extra funding to buy feeds. i am planning to buy 130 kilos of growers mash at 1.3 usd per kilo.
this will enable the chicken have a fast growth and graduate to laying stage within the next two months and there after i will be selling the eggs and enable me get extra income to cater for my day to day needs and also have savings and assist other dependents like my aging parents and other people in need in the society.
the eggs will also be for domestic consumption .
as the business is growing it will also create employment opportunities for others. i will be employing someone to assist in taking the eggs to the market and in turn another household will have secured their daily bread.
