About Me

My name is Amponsah Josephine from Ahinsan-Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. I come from a family of six and I am the eldest among my siblings. My parents are both Ghanaians and they are farmers. I started school at St. Morris international school at Ahinsan-Kumasi where i sat and passed my Basic Education Certificate Examination. From there i proceeded on to St. Louis Senior High School in Oduom - Kumasi where i took my West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). I put up an excellent performance in the WASSCE and was among the best graduating students in my year group. After my Senior high school education, i could not enter straight to my dream tertiary institution because my parents suffered a massive post - harvest losses which resulted in a huge capital loss and because of that i had to stayed home for two years before i finally entered the nursing and midwifery training college. I could not stay home idle for the two years so I spoke with my parents to get me some money to start a buying and selling business. They accepted my proposal and gave me some capital to start my second hand clothes business. I was able to generate enough revenue from the business to support my parents pay for my admission fees into the nursing and midwifery training college. I want my children to grow and become responsible adults so that they could contribute to the socio-economic development of Ghana and help improve the lives of others.
I am a young and intelligent student who had struggled to make a difference in the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian. We found ourselves in a tight corner where to achieve your dreams demand hardwork, perseverance and determination. I have done all i could to get to achieve my dreams but my inability to raise tuition fees has also been another hurdle for me and hence my resolve to request for this loan.

My Business

I sell second-hand clothes to my colleague students and other people in and around my school. I also move from one hostel to another to catch my customers. My customers are numerous and sometimes demand far exceed supply. The demand for quality but affordable second hand clothes on campus is very high because not everyone has the financial nerves to buy expensive and sophisticated attires. I ventured into the selling of second hand clothes upon an extensive consultation with other traders who were into the business already and we're making enough profit. It is one of the profitable and lucrative on campus business. 450 goods worth of second hand clothes can fetch me 100 dollars every week and the amount could even go high when conditions are better. The profit from sales are reinvested into the business to make it attractive and to grow and expand it.
I am a very talented and an intelligent student who when given the loan to continue and expand my business will help me make more money to finance my education so that i will serve my country well and impact positively on the lives of the peoples/Ghanaians.

Loan Proposal

Your offer of about 104 dollars will impact positively on my education and help me earn my degree without any difficulty. I will serve my people after school and improve on their standard of living.
