About Me

My name is Okai Kofi from Tafo -Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. I come from a family of seven children, four girl and three girls. I am the first born and had to support my aged parents take care of my other siblings. My parents are farmers and very aged so many responsibilities had bafall me. I started my education at St. Joseph international school in Tafo-Pankrono where I had my Junior High school education. I did excellently well in the Basic Education Certificate Examination. I went to Prempeh College for my Senior high school education and did marvellously well in the WASSCE. After prempeh college i went to Kwame Nkrumah University of science and technology to pursue a degree in Biochemistry where i graduated with second class honours. I did a one year national service at Centre for scientific And Industrial Research (CSIR) at Fumesua in kumasi, off the Accra road.
After my national service, i have had a turbulent task on landing on a job. All effort to secure a job has proven futile. Graduate unemployment is a big problem for the Ghanaian government. There are more graduates like myself without jobs and the only alternative we have is to start our own small business and grow it.
When things became unbearable and even the money to secure three square meals was a problem, i decided to put my certificate somewhere and start selling second hand clothes on the streets of Tafo, Pankrono, Ahwiaa and surrounding communities.
My business grew quickly and i have gain much from it to support my Junior siblings in the realisation of their academic potential. I have started a three year postgraduate course in haematology at KNUST in kumasi by distance mode.
I want my children to have the best of education so that they will be responsible adult and contribute significantly in the development of their country and improve the world and make it a better place.

My Business

I sell second-hand clothings in Tafo, Pankrono, Ahwiaa, Medoma and other surrounding communities in the kumasi metropolis. I have a large number of customers and i come across new customers each day because I go to them with my goods. Goods at your door-steps. My goods are quality and affordable and all people from different financial background can buy my goods. My second hand clothes are in high demand because I have different and many customers and i even make new customers on daily basis. 600 dollars good can give me a profit margin of 120 dollars on weekly basis. My revenue generation sometimes goes up when things are better. I reinvest the revenue into the business and use the rest to pay for my second degree haematology course at KNUST.
I also support my Junior siblings sometimes.

Loan Proposal

I need 100 dollars to pay my tuition fees. The start of every academic year becomes a problem for me because of how to raise money to take care of my tuition fees. When offered this aid i would be able to study hard to become best among my colleagues and help develop my country after graduation.
