About Me

My name is Akosua Nyarko from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. I started my education at St. Louis Roman Catholic school and proceeded to St. Louis Senior High school both in Kumasi. My parents are Ghanaians and are Cocoa farmers in Mehame, a small community in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. The have six children together and i am the second born. I was the Assistant School prefect and I discharged my duties very well and was voted the best prefect among my colleagues. After my senior high school education, I had the opportunity to work as a filling station attendant, selling fuels and auxiliary products which enabled me to save some money to buy my nursing training forms. I saved a lot from this job and i was able to pay my own admission fees with the support of my parents. During my work days at the service station, i had the chance to meet young entrepreneurs who were busily working and trying something new to make a better living to improve their lives. I sought a lot of advice from them and how to start a business to raise more revenue and they discussed with me that it does not take much or more money to start a business. I was much convinced and started selling watches, something I have been for some years now. I used part of the money i saved while working to start the business and i have really made enough out of business.
I am a nursing student and have heard of how Zidisha has helped people grow their businesses for them to realise their dreams and contribute their quota to the socio-economic development of Ghana. Zidisha has really helped young entrepreneurs in Africa realised their dreams and aspirations. Had it not been Zidisha many professionals wouldn't have made it. I look forward to your Co - operation.

My Business

I sell watches to people in and around campus and also employ home to home model of selling my goods. I visit people in their hostels to make my goods known to them. I have a lot of customers whom a supply my goods to. My goods are quite moderate and affordable and all students and commuters irrespective of their financial standings could afford my products. I ventured into buying and selling watches because it is one of the most lucrative on campus business and is quite easy to operate. The rate of demand for my goods far exceed supply hence my resolve to partner Zidisha so that i could procure more goods to meet the demand. 700 - 800 dollars worth of goods can help me reach out to many customers and this will improve my revenue and daily earnings.
The profit will be reinvested into the business to grow it.
Thank you.

Loan Proposal

I have come to the realisation that no matter how rough the road might be, there is still light at the end of the turnel when one perseveres and try to work extra hard for the realisation one the set targets.
I am a nursing trainee and i intend raising the flag of the nursing profession high.
I need about 200 dollars to achieve my aims.
Thank you.
