About Me

My name is Hasniati, a mother of 3 children. I have a seaweed business and also join a community of seaweed business so that we can do the job together to save our costs. So far, my main occupation is running the seaweed business that I cultivate with my husband and I can use the profit from this business to fulfill my household needs, including my children's school fees. My seaweed farm size is not large since I do not have enough capital. However, this seaweed business has a big prospect as there are still large area of uncultivated sea waters that we haven't used it. The desire to increase the area of the seaweed business area could yet be fulfilled due to lack of equipment, especially a boat that is needed to widen the area of the seaweed farm. Currently, the government support could not help all of the group of seaweed farmers due to lack of funds that are available. In my group, I have put forward a proposal multiple times but still haven't yet receive supports from government. Even when I tried to secure a loan from Kredit Usaha Rakyat, I was hindered due to the need for guarantee. I really wish Zidisha, who helps small businesses in their financial troubles, could support me so that the seaweed farmers could further improve the quality of their products.

My Business

I would like to secure a loan to help me in purchasing some equipment needed to cultivate seaweeds. With this loan, I hope to further increase the revenue of my business.
Currently, my seaweed business revenue is $90 for each harvest. I plan to borrow $100 from Zidisha. At that amount, I would be able to repay the loan and also purchase the needed equipment.
Currently, my revenue in this business is sufficient for my livelihood. In average, each member of seaweed farmers can only supply 500 kg worth of seeds. This can only yield 1.5 tonne of wet seaweeds during harvest and after they dried, the seaweeds only weigh around 300 kg.
If the seed price is $0.24/kg, at 500 kg they will cost $120. In addition, for ropes to tie the seaweeds and fulfilling my household needs, they will cost me another $50. Thus, the total cost will be $170.
The price of dry seaweed after harvest is $0.84/kg, thus yielding me a revenue of $252 ($0.84 x 300 kg). Accordingly, the profit that I receive every harvest is $252-$170=$82.
If I am able to secure more loan, I am confident that I will be able to generate more revenue since the main challenge of seaweed farmers are the lack of funds.

Loan Proposal

Loan of $100 to purchase the necessary materials to cultivate seaweed such as small and big ropes to tie the seaweed together. The prices of them are as follows:

- 1kg of small rope at $1.5
- 3kg of large rope at $10.2
- 300kg of seaweed seed at $84.02

Hopefully, with this loan, this business could create a change in increasing the livelihood of our family.

About Me

Nama saya Hasniati seorang ibu rumah tangga 3 orang anak, saya punya pekerjaan sehari - hari usaha rumput laut, saya juga masuk dalam kelompok usaha rumput laut, karena dengan menjadi anggota pekerjaan bisa dilakukan bersama - sama dengan anggota sehingga mengurangi sedikit biaya. Selama ini pekerjaan utama adalah usaha rumput laut yang saya kelolah bersama suami, dari hasil rumput laut ini pula saya bisa membiayai kebutuhan keluarga termasuk kebutuhan biaya anak saya yang masih bersekolah. Lokasi rumput laut yang saya miliki tidak terlalu luas sama semua dengan teman anggota kelompok karena masih terkendala masalah modal usaha. Padahal mata pencaharian seperti rumput laut masih sangat prospek bahkan laut yang begitu luas belum mampu dimanfaatkan oleh petani rumput laut untuk menambah luas lokasi. Keinginan untuk menambah luas lokasi pengembangan rumput laut belum bisa terlaksana karena peralatan masih sangat minim, terutama perahu yang akan dipakai memperluas lokasi. Bantuan pemerintah selama ini belum bisa melayani bantuan secara merata ke kelompok usaha karena terbatasnya dana bantuan untuk petani rumput laut. Di kelompok saya juga sudah beberapa kali mengajukan proposal tapi belum pernah mendapat bantuan, bahkan meminta mediasi pemerintah dalam mendapatkan pinjaman Kredit Usaha Rakyat tapi terkendala masalah jaminan. Semoga dengan adanya Zidhisa yang bisa membantu usaha kecil dapat memberikan solusi dalam permasaalahan permodalan, sehingga para petani rumput laut bisa bersaing dan memperbaiki kualitas produksi.

My Business

Saya mengajukan pinjaman ini untuk membantu saya dalam mendapatkan perlengkapan dalam proses pembibitan rumput laut. Dengan pinjaman ini saya berharap lebih meningkatkan lagi pendapatan. Pengahasilan saya di rumput laut dalam sekali panen sekitar $90. Pinjaman yang ingin saya ajukan sesuai dengan ketentuan Zidhisa yaitu awal pinjaman $100. Saya kira dengan pinjaman awal sebesar itu saya mampu untuk mengembalikannya dan bisa membantu membeli alat perlengkapan yang dibutuhkan. Penghasilan saya dalam usaha ini cukup untuk kebutuhan hidup, rata-rata anggota kelompok tani rumput laut hanya mampu menyediakan bibit 500kg. Jumlah ini sangat minim karena hasilnya setelah panen hanya bisa mencapai 1.5ton, setelah kering hanya sekitar 300kg. Jika harga bibit 1kg@$0.24X500kg= $120 sistem pembayaran setelah panen. Harga jual rumput laut kering 1kg @$0.84X300kg =$252, biaya komsumsi dan lain selama pengikatan bibit sekitar $50. Total biaya semua $170 jadi pendapatan yang saya peroleh untuk setiap kali panen sebesar $252-$170 = $82. Jika mendapat tambahan modal usaha saya yakin bisa meningkat lagi. Karena kendala utama petani rumput laut adalah kurangnya permodalan usaha.
