I am the second born child in a family of seven, i was born and raised up in upcountry where farming is the main source of income to my family.I did overcame the financial constraints in campus by enrolling for students loan and earnings from my web designing part time job.
I did hustle for after graduating with second class honors in 2013 for an year where I realized that getting a job in this competitive and challenging lifestyle is not a thing you can attach it with some certainty.During that hustle my childhood friend suggested that we form a partnership in running a photocopy shop. We raised the capital by borrowing our relative. That is how we started the business.
I earn a dividend of 50% of each month's profit from our photocopy shop which is in Mogotio campus in Baringo county. The assets that we have include a 3 in 1 photocopier ,printer and a desktop .The main business is photocopy but in addition we do printing ,typesetting and typing to university students. We choose this business because of high demand fr the services by students and the fact that we did access a business room easily with ease.
The cost of photocopy papers is Ksh.400 and can be used to generate Ksh.1200,the expenses involved include lunch ,labor cost of printing papers totaling to 510 .The profits are 690 per day .We use the profit to support our family and reinvesting the remaining amounts in the business.
I have managed to secure a room in the newly constructed administration block,I intended to buy a new photocopier which cost $85 and rim of photocopying papers worth $10 .The remaining $5 dollars will be used for marketing of the new business in the hostels by writing the posters bearing the name of the shop and the services offered, this will be a plus in disseminating information which in return will boost the income .Having factored in the expense and the fact that the premise is still new to students ,my daily profit projection is Ksh.450 per day which is good for a start .I call upon dear lenders to fund my proposal in pursuit of the noble business course.Thank you in advance.
