i was born about thirty years ago in kisii central ,i attended chemo go primary school and later Geke secondary in nyamira county.i proceeded to Amboseli institute of hospitality management where acquired a diploma in hospitality.i tarmacked looking for a job for sometime after which i secured a contract with a local hotel.i worked for two years and my contract ended last year, a time at which i need money most.but luckily since i had started this business i was able to support my family with but the coming of zidisha will prove to be a life changing venture which not only will support me but also those surrounding me.
i am a farmer with a pig-rearing farm,currently i have five pigs but i am am constrained by space.the pig business is a good one especially since i stay in the remote parts of the city and since the city is nearby i can easily be able to serve this market which largely depends on pork since in Nairobi getting green vegetables is not easy.
i chose this business because of lack of enough space to rear other animals that would thrive well in expansive fields,secondary pigs feed from the remains of households which i collect and therefore it is easier to operate.
typical costs include:cost of feeds,vaccines and other fodder that will supplement the remnants.
i use the profits from sales of pigs where one cost around.10000kes,to educate my daughter and also to support my family.to pastime i like joining friends with similar businesses to benchmark on their developments.
i will use the loan to buy material to expand the housing for the pigs and the remaining i will use to buy feeds for the pigs and vaccines
1.building materials =4000kes
2.feeds =2000kes
3.vaccines =2000kes
it will increase profit and also help me assist other to open similar business.the profit is expected to increase by 20%
