About Me

Beatrice Borketey is my name and I come from Nungua in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. I am the sixth born of my parents. I have 7 siblings, 4 boys, and 3 girls. I attended my senior secondary school at St. Peters Anglican Senior High School (SPASS). I have always had a vision of building up my own shopping mall where I would be selling a variety of items like foodstuffs, electrical appliances, home supplies like carpets, stuffing chairs, beverages, chocolates, ice creams, and the like. My hobby is singing and listening to music. This hobby made me join the choir at both my junior and senior high schools.

My Business

I am a secretary by profession and I currently work with “Palace Shopping Mall” on the Spintex road. “Palace” is a shopping mall that has almost everything you can think of getting for your home. I used to work with Koala at Circle, Accra, then later I move to “Palace”. I work as a secretary at “Palace”. I work on the data entry of frozen foods in the mall. I am in the frozen foods department. I also type the project work of students, lecture notes of lecturers at Data Link University, U.P.S, I.P.M.C, Accra Polytechnic, and University of Ghana, Legon. I also type business proposals at a minimum rate per page. I do this at home most of the time. Mostly on weekends.

Loan Proposal

As a secretary, I started working on my own on part time basis whiles I was working with “Palace Shopping Mall”. I type the project works of university students, lecture notes for university lecturers, S.H.S teachers, and exams questions for schools. I also type business proposals as well. I need about $150 more to buy some more A4 sheets for my typing work at home. The sheets have now become expensive so it is better to buy at least 10 packs than to buy single packs at the retail price. I still want to maintain my charge for typing in order to increase my customer base and I can do only that by getting more A4 sheets at the wholesale price. I hope by the help of ZIDISHA I will be able to make my customers happy and also increase my customer base. Thank you.
