About Me

I am Kenyan citizen aged 28 years. I am brought up in an entrepreneurial environment. Educationally I hold a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. I have passion for business and currently I operate a grocery in one of the leading universities in Kenya-JKUAT. I am very much composed and I like taking well calculated risks. My future ambition is to own fruits processing firm. My drive to engage in business came as a result of my parents who were entrepreneurial, most of my youth hood were spent in my father’s grocery .

My Business

I am dealing in a grocery business situated in JKUAT- one of the leading universities in Kenya with student population of about 27,000. The location of my business is very strategic since the large student population coupled with high purchasing power makes it possible to thrive. On average this business generates net monthly turnover of 25,000 Kenya shillings .Currently I have employed three people and expanded to value addition of fruits by processing juice. I have also conducted market research in the neighboring institutions and the situation is promising. In order to expand and achieve this estimated demand I will need capital and labor with a financial estimate of 1.2 million Kenya Shillings. Having been introduced to the Zidisha loan by a friend I saw it fit to join as it will help me finance my business with ease owing to its friendly terms and conditions.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan to purchase a pop corn machine worth US $ 270/= to boost my product range and my earning . The machine will be stationed within the institution (JOMO KENYATTA UNIVERSITY). Since the machine cost is above the requested loan amount, I will top up using the savings from the business. once acquired, I will employ one attendant preferably a lady to take charge of the pop corn sale. Through this I will create job opportunity and hence increase my employee base to 4 people since currently I have contracted 3 gentlemen to help in the juice production. Through this machine the business is estimated to generate about US $ 200 /= per month and this will help in expanding the business both financially and asset-wise. the increased profit will be re invested in the business and part of it will be used to renovate some of the production facilities/equipments.

I would like to momentarily reduce my installment amount due to reduced cash flow as a result of the Christmas holiday. Investment is moving on well and it is my hope that it will pick up again once the festive season is over during which i will readjust my installment upscale

I want to take this opportunity to thank all my lenders for their kind support towards raising my loan. I received the cash and used it for the purchase of the printer.

I want to take this opportunity to thank my lenders for the effort they have shown towards my loan. I will commit all the money into purchasing the A -3 EPSON color printer. This printer will help me print posters for my group of customers which comprise majorly bar owners and young artists. This will help increase my income by approximately $150 per month.

I am very much glad I joined zidisha . My previous loan was used to purchase a pop corn machine , unfortunately I was forced out of the premise due to unhealthy competition which saw my business face severe damages. currently , I changed my plan to printing services and I am applying for this loan to help in purchasing EPSON color printer which will en able me to print posters and photos for my clients which at the moment comprises of young artists and bar owners who have to advertise on posters quite often. once I purchase this machine it will boost my business by increasing my profit margin to an estimate of ksh. 500/= a day. I will also have to contract a young lady to help in the shop which in turn will help in creating employment.

I am requesting for the adjustment of my installment because I am not able to meet the previous amount . There was a change of contract and I didn't manage to secure my business premise and so I had to look for another location . This brought a great interruption in my progress . I lost my customers and my income also dropped drastically. It is as a result of this that I seek to review my repayment schedule as I pick up in my new location.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the Zidisha lending team for the loan which has just been funded.
This loan will be used to purchase the pop corn machined just as it was mentioned earlier. although the machine will cost Ksh. 25,000 /= which is almost one half of the loan, the remaining amount will be funded by the savings from the business.
The machine will form part of the vital assets of the premise as it will contribute to the growth of the business both financially and also asset-wise. once it is purchased, the actual benefits will be compared with the projected benefits an d this will also help in judging the business strength.

I want to sincerely thank the ZIDISHA team for the loan i received. I managed to pay part of the cost of the juice extractor. The remaining amount I managed to offset using the savings from the business. Fabrication of the said equipment is in its final stage and once complete, I will post its photos to my lenders. The equipment will be a great boost to the business as it will enable a double rate of production.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the ZIDISHA lending team for the loan of $ 100 /= I received last month.
I used the amount for the initial payment of the juice extractor which is fabricated locally . I have not managed to start using it for the business. once it is fully fabricated I will be able to post updates covering all the benefits it will add to my business.
