I am currently working with a credit union. I have also worked with Plan International on project called Banking on Change which was sponsored by Barclays UK. In that project we had groups called Village Savings and Loans Associations ( VSLAs). We assisted those groups to mobilize fund and also loaned it to themselves. Based on this experience, I appreciated your idea and belief and thus I would like to join Zidisha organisation.
Moreover, I am a poultry farmer and I would to expand it so that I will be able to employ more people especially the young ones.
My source of income is my monthly salary. Though it is not much because it is a community credit union. I wish to expand my poultry farm to increase my sources of income.
I would like to expand my poultry farm so that I can earn more money to support my family both the nuclear and the extended. My nuclear family members are four, myself, my wife plus two daughters. The expansion of the poultry farm will enable me to earn more income to take care of my daughters' education. I will also be able to assist my younger siblings, nieces and nephews.
Moreover, I would to create employment for many young people in my area. In Ghana, one of the challenges is huge unemployment and because of this many young people resort to travelling to neighbouring countries by using unapproved routes. In the course of this journey, many lose their lives. If I am able to expand my poultry farm, I will be able to employ some young people thereby reducing the unemployment rate in Ghana.
