About Me

I spent my childhood in our countryside home where I also went to school.
after completing my high school,I couldn't manage to proceed because of financial problems.
I moved to stay with an uncle in Nairobi.
while at my uncles place,I contacted neighbors who had a busy schedule to let me run their errands like queuing up to pay bills on their behalf, delivery, picking there children from school and many more.they gave me money in return and I was able to build a small house for chicken with the help of my uncle.
He has a large farm near the city so I saw an opportunity to utilize the readily available market.
I want to grow this business to a level that can sustain me and perhaps pay my college fees as I intend to further my education.

My Business

I have started poultry farming.
I buy five day old chicks and raise them for 7-8 weeks before I sell them to hotels and institutions around my locality.
I chose this kind of business because I attended a seminar where I was thought how to raise chicks and best practices to ensure i get the most from my money and partly because It was what I did most from my childhood.
3-5 days chicks cost $1.5
cost of keeping one chick for 7-8 weeks is $3
after 7-8 weeks, one chick can be sold at $6-$7 hence a profit of$ 2.5-$3.5 per chick.
presently I have 50 chicks.that could be a return of $125-$135.
I intend to use my revenue to expand my poultry business.I have a target of reaching 500 chicks in the next one year.

Loan Proposal

Am planning to expand to my poultry farming business.
Already I have a house and 25 chicks.
I want to add another 25 chicks and keep the 50 chicks for a period of 7-8 weeks before I release them to the market.
the cost of buying 25 chicks =$25.
raising 25 chicks for 7-8 weeks=$38.
house repair to accommodate all the chicks =$25.
I f I get the loan,my profits will increase by $50-$75
after 7-8 weeks,I will sell all the chicken and add to the business.am intending to raise 100 chicks the second time.

Eventually my savings will add up to pay my college fee.
