About Me

Hello Zidisha, having successfully completed the construction of the poultry house (see profile picture) from the previous loan acquired, i hereby want to thank the Zidisha community for funding me in accomplishing that task. Since the house is ready for occupation i once again request for another loan in which i will buy the layers chicks (three weeks old) and the balance for their feed. Its my believe that once the chicks are mature this will increase my earning threefold from the sell of eggs as well as the mature chicks themselves. Thanks Zidisha for making my dream come true. Long life Zidisha community.

My Business

Currently i have mainly focused on Poultry farming since its a less tedious and cost friendly venture. I have done a market survey and realized the demand for eggs especially from the indigenous chicken ( commonly referred to as Kienjeji Chicken in Kenya) is on the rise and the supply is limited. That is why i have chosen this kind of business venture. On the other hand the returns are enormous once the chicken are well taken care of. A three week old chick (Kroiler) costs KES 100. I plan to start with 100 chicks which translates to a cost of KES 10,000. This chicks are believed to lay eggs on average between 200-250 eggs in a year. An egg costs KES 20. So by working with 200 eggs per Chick i expect to get ( 100 chicks*200 eggs*KES 20* 300 days=KES 120,000,000). If i subtract the initial capital, cost of labour and the cost of buying the feed and medication plus other auxiliary expenses i will not lack close to KES 100,000, 000 . This returns will be used to pay school fees, construct a decent home, and the rest will be reinvested back to the business. This translates to a better lifestyle. In this is why i am proud to be a Zidisha member and a volunteer member who is ready to help others grow hence improving their living standards. LONG LIFE ZIDISHA.

Loan Proposal

Since i have already started constructing the poultry house and reached i point where i stopped due to lack funds. I will use the loan to buy extra iron sheets and a door such that i can finish the construction of the poultry house. once the house is complete i anticipate to keep upto 300 kroiler chicken. But i plan to start with about one month old 70 chicken.

It is quite some time since i posted something in regards to the my progress. So far so good. My flock has so far risen up to 230 chicks having disposed the parent stock. This business has seen me raise school fees for my siblings and created a job opportunity for one person who takes care of my chicken since most of the time am away. Kudos to Zidisha for your support. God bless all the lenders and Zidisha family at large. Below is a Photo taken in the month of February showing my worker giving water to my chicken.

I have had challenges with my hailing Grandmother who was attacked by Stroke and this has made me divert some of my money towards her medication and welfare. Am therefore forced to reduce my payment so that I may be able to pay promptly. Rgds

I cannot pay the full installment amount due. I would like to reduce my payment to KES 500 due to some financial crisis. Long live Zidisha.
