About Me

I grew up in Bungoma County, went to Chwele Primary School and thereafter proceeded to Mabanga Girls Secondary School in Bungoma County where I did my 0- level exams. It was not easy for us to go to school because I grew up in a polygamous family where my father never cared about education. After my mother struggled for me to complete my form four, I could not proceed onto college because of lack of school fees. I began selling mitumba for 2 years then changed to grocery.
I got married and that is where I began to do my business for poultry farming with my husband. I began the business with only one hen. To my surprise, after 3 years in business, I had a lot of hens and I was the supplier of chickens and eggs in my village.
One of my daughters joined me after her fourth form. She joined me and when she got married that is what she is doing until now.
The most unique thing about our place is that diseases are not rare.

My Business

I offer poultry services. That is, I sell chickens and eggs at wholesale price. The most useful commodity on demand are the hens for eating and eggs. I chose poultry farming because it is very marketable in our area.
I spend approximately 30,000 per month on food and treatment, but I earn 75,000 per month from the total sales I make. Whatever I get, I use it to pay school fees for my last born who is in college and for the family upkeep and also to increase my stock.

Loan Proposal

Because my business is growing big and the house for the hens has become small i want to build a biger permanent house for the hens. Also i want to start raring turkeys with the loan i am borrowing. the house i want to build total costs is 436.9 dollars. And the turkey one goes at 1.31 dolars. So the money i have is not enough that is why i requested for the loan. My profit will increase and because my intention is to start a training of the same in the society i tyhink it will be beneficial to others.
In future am aiming at a profit of Kshs. 100,000 per month.
