Hello everone,
My name is clara nawire, I am from kenya originaly born and raised in western province Kakamega county, I have passion in voluntary Ngo jobs for community development. I grew up watching my parents struggle to cater for the family, I struggled to achieve my dreams of building a community social hall programs which is done at the area chiefs office with members meeting every saturdays and sundays with aim to educate people about Hiv awareness, I lost three of aunties and one uncle due to hiv and this made me so touched and emotional.
I run a poultry business that provides eggs and chiken meat, i also use my farm to educate the community on importance of proteins as a way to fight mulnutrition in the community and also educate on rearing of chiken to help them earn and become self dependebale.
With help from Ngos salary and comunity, I run a small farm consisting of 160 layers and 30 hens, I provide eggs and chiken meat to my community and as a way to earn a living.
My farm needs to expand so to meet demand due to high demands in eggs which was lead by farmers understanding the way they can rear chicks to make money.
I have started hatching of eggs to sell at cheaper price to empower fellow community members, I however face challenges like high cost of feeds and once in a whiule high motality rate in the newly hatched chiks.
I have taken measures to control the loss and this is why i have decided to seek advice and money to help expand my poultry house to separate the chiks and buy heating equipments to help in brooding.
I will spend the loan on top of my money to buy poultry feeds and farming of maize crop.
