I just want to inform the lenders that things are not good in Kenya at this time due to strikes and the elections. I am not making excuses for John but elections times in Kenya can sometimes be fearful and violent times for people due to tribal conflicts, food shortages, and other things. Believe me, I know.

Hello son, this is daddy James. I see your business is growing and I am happy about that. If I am able I will help with your new loan request. Am not sure if I can this time. If I had your cellphone number I would have called you to discuss your business and give you some encouragement and advice. Is it possible that you can give me your number? I have lots of kids everywhere in Kenya and we talk once in awhile, and I would like to talk with you too. Hope the family is doing good. Take care and write soon. Remember I love you son. Daddy James

Hello son, this is dad. No I don't mind you calling me dad or daddy, all my other Kenya kids do. Son, I have been wondering how you, and your business are doing, and how is the family? I hope your business is doing well and getting even better. Hope the family is also doing great. I have been praying for you all every day. Son, in your last letter you said that you are working on expanding the business and I would like to know what your plans are for doing that. Are you thinking of expanding business in other nearby locations (other towns or cities)? Of course you would need another bicycle, and have to hire a trustworthy person to deliver the eggs in that location. Anyway, have you thought about having a business card to give to people and businesses to advertise your business? You would have to name the business and have your cellphone number on the card. I suppose you do keep records of your customers, their cell numbers, quantity of eggs they need, when their delivery time is, and other information you feel is important. If you have a lot of customers it can be difficult to remember every detail. Do you have a good chain and lock for your bike? Son, I know you are busy but when you have time, if possible, I would like to know a little about your family members. Would also like another photo of you. No hurry. Well son, remember I love you, take care, and keep doing your best. Dad

Jambo John, I am James from USA. I read your story and am happy to lend the money to you. Son you seem to be a very good businessman who is determined to succeed, and I believe you will succeed. I hope you don't mind me calling you son. You are doing good to help your family, and I am really proud of you. You even lent a friend some money so he could start a business and I am proud of you for that too. You have a good heart son. I have been to Kenya 3 times and have many daughters and sons and friends there. It is a beautiful place with beautiful people. I guess you have 2 baskets on your bicycle for carrying the eggs, 1 basket on the front and 1 on the back. As you are delivering the eggs is there anything else you could carry that custoners might need, like salt, pepper, or whatever? You might get more income. By the way son, it would be good for you if you had a partner in your business, but not just any partner. I am talking about the Lord, make Him your number one partner. Well son keep doing your best, and keep on keeping on. Write sometime and let me know how you are doing. Greet the family, and take care. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Bye for now. James
