About Me

My name is Akosua Mary. I was born in the year 1989 at Banda Bongase in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. My parents were peasant farmers. My mother is dead and my father is now old.

My community is a busy area. There is gold mining here and a hydroelectric dam too. There is forest reserve here where you can get many animals.

I was selling locally made drinks and, with the help of Zidisha, I have expanded my business. I now sell soft drinks in addition. This loan will move my business on well. Thank you.

My Business

I sell drinks at Bongase in the Banda district of Brong Ahafo Region. Some of the drinks are sobolo, amudro and other local drinks. I sell locally made drinks like ginger drinks and pineapple-flavored drinks. Again, I sell soft drinks like Coca-Cola, Fanta, fruit juice and many more.

My gross daily sales is 500 dollars. My proceeds are plowed back into the business. I will be happy to receive the money to grow my business well. I will pay back timely. Thank you.

Loan Proposal

I am a young girl of about 26 years old , I sell food items to the households in my neighbourhood and the nearby communities. The items include spices, vegetables, eggs,salt and many other food commodities, I also prepare local drinks like sobolo, and amuduro for sale . The drinks are put in bottles of 500mls ,750 mls and 1 litre and refrigerated for sale.

On a good market day I sell about 50 or 60 dollars that is a weekly amount of about 350 dollars or more. The items cost about 0.2 to about 2.5 dollars.

I love doing a work of this nature because it help provide people’s daily needs and again I live in an area where most of the people live under poverty and cannot go to the city for this items . Therefore buying them and breaking them into smaller quantities help them get their needs and livelihood.

Sometimes when I run out of goods and people come to buy and they don’t get I become worried because of the disappointment on their faces.

I will be very happy to receive this loan to enable me to satisfy my customers well.
