About Me

My name is Lucas, a resident of Kisumu, Kenya. I am 42 years old, physically challenged and a teacher by profession. My parents were peasant farmers who couldnt see me through school. I benefited from a sponsorship program upto University. I am a father of five, all of whom are in boarding schools. This is what motivated me to start a shoe-selling business to make ends meet. I would wish to expand to wholesale but lack the capital to do so.

My Business

I operate a small shop in Kisumu town, next to the Kenya National Library Services. I have employed one saleslady to assist. The proceeds, though not much, help supplement my pay as a public school teacher to support my family. It is my hope that this business will one day grow big enough to support myself and allow for savings for the purpose of expansion.

Loan Proposal

I will invest in the business to increase the stock level in order to realise more sales. With increased sales and financial stability, I hope to be able to reach a wide range of clientele. I will also invest in technology, especially the social media to widen the scope of clients. Besides, i plan to sub-contract sales persons who are projected to raise the net daily sales by upto 40%. This should be able to realise tremendous growth exponential that will allow for the achievement of set targets.
