About Me

I’m Hellen Brown , 28 years of age. I was born at Kumasi. My mum married a white man when she was at UK and since there was a divorce she came to Ghana to gave birth to me. Later my father died at UK - Westminster and I was supposed to attend the funeral but I wasn’t have a passport at time so I couldn’t attend. I have lived in Ghana since childhood and I was put in school. My mum was finding it difficult to carter for so when I was in JHS one (1) I started doing something small to help my mum to pay my fees. So I decided to sell toffees and handkerchiefs when I was in school and the business was going on well. After JHS , I stayed at home for 1 year and find myself a small place to continue my business. And it was going through. I was getting more customers at my community. I made a revenue at the end of the year and used to money to enter into SHS , my mum too was helping though. Nothing wasn’t stopping me to do this business and I started selling Milk , Milo, Gari , Sugar, Conflakes and Sardines when in SHS and it was helping me and my mum. After SHS my mum got me a small shop to continue my business and it’s that business that’s helping me and my mum. I have no siblings, I’m the only daughter of my mum.

My Business

My business is located at Ohwimase JE sub area of Kwadaso in Kumasi- Ashanti Region of Ghana. My business is selling provisions in my small container. Some of the items I sells are ; Gari, Ketchups , Sardines, Milo , Milk, Sugar, Conflakes, Bathing soaps, Washing soaps and powder, Toffees, bottled water, Bread and many more. I started this business when I was at JHS. This business has helped me a lot. I make a sales of $300 at the end of week and profit of $100 at the of week after deducting my expenses. My revenue at the end of year amount to $4800 . I want my business to be increased on a larger scale and expand my container to a bigger one .

Loan Proposal

I will purchase these items when given the loan. $10 of Gari, $60 of Sardines, $100 box of Milk , $70 of Milo , $15 of Sugar, $55 of Ketchup. This will raise my profit margin and increase my profit at the end of the year. I’m expecting a profit of $200 at the end of the week.
